The chairman, Cde. Alpha M. Warity wishes to inform all members, Stewards, militants, cadres, and sympathizers of the indomitable Student Unification Movement (SUM) that the meeting with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Cuttington University; Dr. Charles Wesley Ford, slated for Friday, August 14, 2020, was successful and elaborate. Issues affecting Liberian students in general and Cuttington University students in particular were high on the agenda. Questions raised in the communication sent by the institution weeks ago were addressed at least to the best of the respondent’s knowledge and capacity.

We were assured that Cuttington University is making efforts regarding the resumption of classes for the completion of academic 2019/2020. We were also informed that the readjusted version of the academic continuity plan, advertised in late May of this year has since been submitted to the Board of Trustees for reconsideration and the Board has yet to make any decision on it. Dr. Ford intimated that they have a scheduled meeting with the Board of Trustees Tuesday of next week to get a feedback. He said as soon as they get confirmation from the board, they will not hesitate to get the school up and running. He said they are set and only await signal from the board particularly and the NCHE generally.
From the SUM’s angle, we are optimistic, given the wave of occurrences in the country that tertiary schools shall be given the go-ahead early next month to resume. Modalités are being worked out to ensure the campuses are safe and ready. We commit to the Cuttington University our unwavering support in ensuring that the health protocols are adhere to when classes resume.
We ask that we keep posted! We promised to continue our constructive engagements with the administration of Cuttington University as well as the government of Liberia to ensure that schools resume as early as needed. We in this vain rely on your continual support in ensuring that we achieve this toge

The Board of Trustees of the University have read the plan and instructed the Vice President for Academic Affairs to do some modification especially the interactive components (Face to Face Presentation- Video Conferencing).
