The debate team of the BOBSS won a one day inter high school debate game against the Kpanay Town Public High School at the St Peter's School Auditorium.
The inter high school competition was held by Liberia Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (LEITI) in Grand Bassa Buchanan City on December 18, 2025. The program was intended to get the clearer views of the students of Bassa on the topic which states "does disclosure ultimate owners of extractive companies combat illicit financial flow(IFFs).
The debate team of Buchanan Open Bible Standard School serving as team government defended the topic, taking the day with 87% while Kpanay Town had 70% ..

😔 Sad News: Decontee Clay, Buchanan Open Bible Alumna, Passes Away
We're saddened to share that Decontee Clay, a proud alumna of Buchanan Open Bible Standard School, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025 in Buchanan. Our condolences go out to her family, friends, and fellow alumni.
She's been laid to rest today, December 8, 2025 at the Light Forest Field Cemetery in Buchanan Grand Bassa county!

Buchanan Open Bible Standard School postponed Graduation ceremony of the Grade 12 of 2024/2025 .
During an interview with Mr. Samuel R.G. Zoegar, principal of BOBSS on Wednesday September 17, 2025. He stressed that due to low payement of graduation fees by parents and other issues that need to be handled, the graduation ceremony of the grade 12 class of 2024/2025 was prosponded to October 17, 2025.
Baccalaureate service of the school has also been prosponded to the second sunday in October which is the 12 of October 2025.
The principal said the decision of the prospondment of the program is highly in the interest of parents. Something he said that the parents deem neccessary as more time allocated for better preparation.

Actress Drunwillie prepares to showcase her talent at upcoming Vision for Liberia Talent Hunt competition.
Buchanan - An aspiring actress from Grand Bassa County is gearing up for the upcoming Vision for Liberia Talent Hunt competition, set to take place in Monrovia.
Venus Marvoyee Drunwillie who is an alumni of the Buchanan Open Bible Standard School says participating in the contest is a dream come true.
Drunwillie revealed that she draws her inspiration from popular Nollywood star, Destiny Etiko.
"I will proudly represent Grand Bassa County in the competition", she affirmed. Other participating counties include Montserrado, Grand Gedeh, B**g, and Nimba.
Venus is appealing to citizens of Grand Bassa County and the Alumni association of the Buchanan Open Bible Standard School to support her, especially through financial contributions, as she prepares for the event.
The Vision for Liberia Talent Hunt was established in 2023 by Miss Dorihanna B. Harris, a Liberian currently based in the United States.
The organization seeks to promote and showcase Liberian talent on bigger stages.
