🌿✨ A LITTLE JOURNEY OF JOY & DISCOVERY ✨🌿

The 26th Colombo Little Friends Pack recently enjoyed their Pack Holiday from 11th to 13th September 2026, held at our school premises.

Under the loving guidance of the Guide Leaders of our school, the Little Friends experienced three wonderful days filled with friendship, creativity, learning and fun. From delightful handcraft sessions 🎨 to exciting sandwich-making activities 🥪, every moment brought new smiles and cherished memories.

The highlight was the magical 🔥 Bonfire, where our Little Friends gathered together in an evening filled with warmth, laughter and joy. We were honoured to have Rev. Sr. Principal grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.

A beautiful Pack Holiday filled with little adventures, happy hearts and memories to treasure. 💚✨

On the 11th of September, the halls of St. Lawrence's Convent, Colombo 06, came alive with the spirit of inquiry as we successfully hosted our science day, Synapsia 2026.

Guided by the concept of synapsis, the powerful connection between curiosity, imagination, and discovery.

The event featured an exciting agenda, including an inter-school quiz competition, a thought-provoking drama, captivating cultural performances, and the appreciation of all the brilliant young minds out there.

We were honored to have proud past Lawrentian Ms. Pramesha Kumaradasa, a gold-medal-winning university graduate, join us as our Chief Guest to inspire our young scientists.

The day was a fantastic success, dedicated to appreciating and celebrating the spirit of science.

The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, celebrated on September 14th, honours the Cross on which Jesus Christ offered His life for the salvation of the world. It recalls the discovery of the True Cross by St. Helena in the 4th century and the dedication of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. More than a reminder of suffering, this feast invites Christians to see the Cross as a sign of victory, hope, and eternal life, reminding us that through the Cross came the triumph of Christ’s love over sin and death.

*A Tribute to Excellence and Service: Bidding farewell to St. Lawrence’s beloved Teachers*

Coinciding beautifully with the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Lawrence’s Convent hosted a felicitation ceremony and Holy Mass to bid a fond farewell to seven esteemed teachers: Ms. Sriyani Fernando, Ms. Nilani Senerath, Ms. Damayanthi Fernando, Ms. Anne Perera, Ms. Amabel Croning, Ms. Nimali Perera, and Ms. Shazia Sumair.

The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Very Rev. Msgr. Robinson Wijesinghe, Episcopal Vicar of the Colombo region, setting a reverent tone for a day centered on prayer, recognition, and gratitude. The event honoured the cumulative years of selfless service, patience, and devotion these educators gave toward shaping generations of Lawrentians. Far more than teachers, they served as compassionate mentors and guiding lights whose influence extends well beyond the classroom walls.

St. Lawrence’s Convent extends its deepest gratitude for their extraordinary legacy and wishes each of them abundant blessings, joy, and peace in their well-deserved next chapter.
