Professor Stanislaus is an adjunct professor of nuclear physics at Valparaiso University in Indiana, USA. He earned his Ph.D. (1988) and M.S. (1983) in nuclear physics from the University of British Columbia, following his undergraduate degree at the University of Sri Lanka (1976), and remains active in nuclear physics research.

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD: LT COL LUCKSHMAN KARAVITAGE

Leadership came early to Luckshman Karavitage College Head Prefect in 1990, a champion track and field athlete, and a member of the Senior Cadet Platoon. That thread led him from the College grounds to the service of his nation.

A member of the Army Archery Team and a national champion in the team event in 2001, he made history in 2002 as the first Antonian to represent Sri Lanka at a World Archery Championship, in Korea, carrying the College’s name onto the world stage. His standing in the field was further recognised when he was appointed Chairman of the Sri Lanka Paralympic Committee in 2009, lending his leadership to the cause of the nation’s para-athletes.

For all these distinctions, it is his quiet generosity to his alma mater that the Athletic Wing honours most warmly today. As one of the initial donors to the Athletic Wing, the History Book Project and the Dormitory Project, Luckshman has given not only his name and his achievements but his lasting support to the College’s future.

His love for St. Anthony’s and his commitment to the Athletic Wing are, quite simply, priceless. The Athletic Wing is proud to honour Lt Col Luckshman Karavitage.

Major General Chandimal
Former College Sprint Record Holder and National Schools Coloursman; Captain of the 1980 College Soccer Team.

Award received by:

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD

RAJEEV ALEXANDER

Rajeev Alexander’s bond with St. Anthony’s was formed on the college playing fields. A member of the College Junior Cricket Team and the Under-19 Basketball Team in 1987 and 1988, and of the Senior Cadet Team in 1985, he gave back to the game almost as soon as he had left it, returning as College Basketball Coach in 1989 and 1990 to guide the Antonians who followed him.

That instinct to serve the College, rather than merely to belong to it, has never left him. His untiring efforts towards the production of the College History Book stand as a testament to his devotion a labour of dedication that will preserve the Antonian story for generations yet to come. As Co-Chairman of the Short Story Book Project, he has helped give Antonian voices a lasting home in print.

But perhaps his rarest gift is this: no Antonian has travelled further, or to more corners of the country, to bring the Antonian family together. Wherever old boys have gathered, Rajeev has been the thread drawing them home.

For a lifetime spent uniting Antonians across every distance, the Athletic Wing is proud to honour Rajeeva Alexander.

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD: ROSHAN RODRIGO

His Antonian spirit was forged early. As a student he threw himself into college life, playing soccer and competing in athletics a sporting career cut short only by misfortune, having twice broken his arm on the field.

An ardent servant of the Old Boys’ Association, Roshan served as Secretary from 2003 to 2004 and has held the office of Treasurer on seven occasions over the past twenty years, maintaining throughout an unblemished record a testament to the trust his fellow Antonians place in him.

As a Vice President of the Athletic Wing, he has continued to give of himself in countless ways. Roshan Rodrigo stands as a role model to every young Antonian. The Athletic Wing is proud to honour him.

Travis Fambeck
A devoted Antonian and CIMA World Prize Winner
