Proud to announce that the St. Joseph’s College, Wattala Basketball team has emerged as the 2nd Runners-Up in the U20 All Island Division – A Tier 2 tournament!
A hard-fought battle against St. Benedict’s College, Colombo 13 ended with a 64-59 victory. Congratulations to the players and coaching staff for their commitment, teamwork and outstanding effort.

A hard-fought Semi-Final ends in a narrow 53–55 defeat. Our team gave a complete effort on the court, competing with determination and intensity throughout, but it just wasn’t our day.
Congratulations to De Mazenod College on a well-deserved victory and we wish them all the best in the Final.

GOOD FRIDAY
On this sacred day, the Church invites us to stand at the foot of the Cross and contemplate the immeasurable love of Christ, who suffered and died for our salvation. In His Passion, we see the depth of God’s mercy, love poured out completely for humanity.
May this Good Friday draw hearts to repentance, deepen faith and awaken gratitude for so great a sacrifice. Let it lead us to live with humility, to forgive as we are forgiven and to carry our crosses with trust in the One who redeems.
May the mystery of the Cross fill every heart with reverence and peace and prepare us for the joy of the Resurrection.

Maundy Thursday marks the sacred beginning of the Paschal Triduum, drawing the faithful into the profound mystery of Christ’s Passion.
In the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, the Church commemorates how Jesus Christ instituted the Most Holy Eucharist and the ministerial priesthood. The rite of the washing of the feet reveals the command of charity and humble service, flowing from the heart of Christ.
After Holy Communion, the Blessed Sacrament is solemnly carried in procession to the Altar of Repose, signifying the Lord’s agony in the Garden of Gethsemane. The stripping of the altar follows, leaving the sanctuary bare, a stark sign of abandonment and the unfolding of the Passion.
In silent adoration, the faithful are invited to watch and pray with the Lord, entering into His sorrow and surrender.
Thus, Maundy Thursday leads the Church into a sacred stillness, preparing hearts for the solemn remembrance of Good Friday.
