MoU signed with Prime One Global.

FTS' students won a Startup grant
Level 3 students of the FTS' startup project MooMap- Real Time Free Range Cattle System has been selected as one of the 25 startups to participate in the Mastering the Startup Journey international residential training program: "Training for an Entrepreneurship Career Path" to be held at IIT Madras (Pravartak), India, organized by SLASSCOM in collaboration with IIT Madras Pravartak.

The program will be conducted over 6 weeks, from 12 January to 22 February 2026 and is fully funded. This program will provide intensive entrepreneurial training, technical hands-on session, mentorship and opportunities to engage with a vibrant innovative ecosystem. This selection highlights the quality and potential of our students’ work. This project was guided by Mr.R.Ravichandran, Lecturer in ICT from Department of ICT, Faculty of Technological Studies of the University of Vavuniya

PovertyHack-2025. The team of FTS students won the First Prize in the Inter University Hackathon conducted by Open University in colloborations with SLAAS and they received certificate from the Minister of Science and Technology in the SLAAS Annual Session.

Celebrating the power of Research. Faculty of Technological Studies proudly announce that Mrs.Lojenaa Kartheeswaran (Lecturer from Department of Information and Communication Technology) received the
Vice Chancellor Award for Research Excellence – 2025 under Young Researcher Category.
The University Research Committee conducted the awarding ceremony on 19th December 2025, from 2.30pm to 3.00 pm, to present to the winner.
The ceremony saw the participation of staff members from the University of Vavuniya, who gathered to support and celebrate the awardee. The Vice Chancellor , Acting Registrar and the three Deans appreciated the achievements of the award winner and delivered speeches, encouraging all staff members to engage in scholarly work. The award winner shared a motivational speech, reflecting on her research journey and experience, inspiring others to pursue research and innovation.

All the academic activities are postponed by a week till 8th December.
