“Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.” – Luke 1:42
A beautiful tradition of faith and unity continued this year as the schools of Wattala gathered to celebrate the Visitation of Mother Mary.
Students and teachers prayerfully and proudly carried their beautifully decorated chariots on their shoulders, representing their respective schools with devotion, modesty, and reverence. The procession, accompanied by bands playing hymns dedicated to Our Lady, created a truly blessed atmosphere as the statues were brought in and out of the church.
The celebration was followed by the Holy Mass at St. Anne’s Church, bringing together students, teachers, and principals from all the schools in the surrounding area.
A cherished annual tradition of faith and fellowship.
We sincerely thank our Parish Priest and the organizing committee for faithfully arranging this meaningful celebration every year. Our heartfelt gratitude also goes to the parents of this year’s First Holy Communicants for volunteering to decorate the chariot, and to Mr. and Mrs. Manchanayake for generously donating the beautiful chariot to the school.
May Mother Mary continue to bless and guide all our children, families, and schools with love, peace, and faith.
