Chiara Martinelli, Ph.D., is a researcher in Medical Nanotechnology and Research Fellow at Politecnico di Milano (Italy), working at the intersection of bioengineering, regenerative medicine, and advanced in vitro models. Her research combines life sciences, microgravity research, and space biology to investigate how biological systems respond to extreme environments. Alongside her academic activity, she is actively involved in STEM outreach and science communication, promoting accessible and inclusive engagement with space science.

Guest speaker :Dr. Luca Tonietti | PostDoctoral Research Fellow, Astrobiology and Cosmic Physics Laboratory (ACPL). Department of Science and Technology, Parthenope University of Naples, Italy.
Dr. Luca Tonietti is an astrobiologist and researcher at the University of Naples Parthenope, with affiliations to the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF-OACN), the National Research Council of Italy (CNR-IPCF), and collaborator at the Planetary Habitability Laboratory at the University of Arecibo, Puerto Rico. His research focuses on the origin of life, geobiology of extreme environments, space biomining, and cosmic dust. He is actively involved in several European Space Agency (ESA) projects, including the Comet Interceptor mission. Dr. Tonietti is author of different scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals. In 2025, he was awarded the Ernesto Capocci Award by INAF for the best scientific publication in the field of Solar System research. Alongside his academic work, he is actively engaged in science communication and public outreach, promoting astrobiology, planetary science, and space exploration to diverse audiences.
