*36th General Convocation of KDU: Celebrating Excellence and Resilience*

The 36th General Convocation of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) was held on 13th and 14th October 2025 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), marking a significant milestone in the University’s academic journey.

The ceremony was graced by Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), Deputy Minister of Defence, and Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), Defence Secretary, and hosted by Chancellor General Shantha Kottegoda (Retd) and Vice Chancellor Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara.

The Faculty of Management, Social Sciences and Humanities (FMSH) won three prestigious awards:

General Denis Perera Trophy – MGG Deminda (BSc in Management and Technical Sciences)

Best Student Officer (Navy) – RAMPM Molagoda (BSc in Management and Technical Sciences)

Sword of Honour – DAM Pabasara (BSc in Social Sciences)

The convocation concluded with congratulations to all 2025 graduands, wishing them successful and meaningful journeys ahead.
