A total of 11 participants from the Sri Lanka Navy and the ๐‚๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ฅ ๐€๐ฏ๐ข๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐€๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ took part, strengthening their expertise in operational duties at the ๐Œ๐‘๐‚๐‚ and ๐€๐‘๐‚๐‚.

This programme brings together 10 participants from ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐…๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐€๐ช๐ฎ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐œ ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐œ๐ž๐ฌ (๐ƒ๐…๐€๐‘) to strengthen knowledge and capacity in the fisheries sector.

The Regional Centre for Maritime Studies bids a ๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ฆ ๐Ÿ๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ฐ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ญ๐จ ๐Œ๐ซ๐ฌ. ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐ž ๐๐จรซ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž ๐ƒ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of France in Colombo ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ฐ as she concludes her tenure as a distinguished member of the RCMS Advisory Board.

Mrs. Duris has been a cornerstone in the establishment and evolution of RCMS, offering visionary leadership, steadfast guidance, and unwavering commitment as the then Acting Ambassador. Regional Centre for Maritime Studies proudly commenced its first ๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ž ๐‹๐š๐ฐ ๐‚๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ž on 21 July 2025, marking a major milestone.

The inauguration was graced by Admiral Priyantha Perera (Retd.), former Commander of the Navy, Rear Admiral HGU Dammika Kumara, the Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University and Commander Jean Baptiste of the French Embassy. ๐€๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฒ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ก๐š ๐๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ซ๐š ๐๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ค๐ž๐ฒ๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ž ๐ฅ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž, highlighting the strategic value of maritime law in todayโ€™s complex ocean governance landscape.

The course brings together 27 professionals from the SLN, SLAF, SLCG, Customs, Police, MEPA, CCD, DWC, NARA, DFAR, SLPA,KDU and Ocean Universityโ€”fostering inter-agency synergy and legal excellence.
