The Department of Accounting & Finance of the Faculty of Business, NSBM Green University, is pleased to host a guest lecture for the Introduction to Finance students on ”AI-Enabled Finance & Transformation of the Finance Function.”

The session will be conducted by Mr. Kaveen Sadeeptha, Country Leadership Sourcing at Pentland Brands, who is also an alumnus of the Department of Accounting & Finance. This makes the session a meaningful opportunity for our first-year students to learn from one of our own graduates who is now contributing to the industry.

The session aims to provide students with a practical understanding of how artificial intelligence is reshaping finance roles, decision-making, and the future of the finance function beyond traditional textbook concepts.

The best part? Students do not just listen. They will turn their key takeaways into a creative video reel right after the session.

Our Department of Accounting & Finance of the Faculty of Business, successfully conducted the Financial Accounting Guest Lecture & Industry Engagement Session, followed by the Financial Accounting Poster Exhibition, in collaboration with Infinity Space Business School Pvt Ltd.

The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Anne Pathiranage, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Prof. Athula Manawaduge, Head of the Department of Accounting & Finance, together with faculty lecturers and students.
The guest lecture was conducted with the participation of industry resource persons Mr. Bhagya Fernando, Assistant Manager – Group Risk & Control at Brandix Apparel (Pvt) Ltd, and Ms. Subhashi Amarasinghe, Assistant Manager at LSEG Business Services Colombo (Private) Limited.

The session provided Year 1, Semester 1 students with valuable industry exposure, helping them connect classroom-based accounting knowledge with real business practices. Following the guest lecture, students showcased their assignment-based group projects at the Financial Accounting Poster Exhibition, demonstrating the practical application of the accounting cycle to real and small-scale business contexts.

The Department of Accounting & Finance extends its sincere appreciation to the resource persons, Infinity Space Business School Pvt Ltd, the faculty members, and all students for their valuable contribution towards the success of the event.

The Department of Accounting & Finance, Faculty of Business, NSBM Green University, is pleased to host the ACF1131 Financial Accounting Guest Lecture & Industry Engagement Session in collaboration with Infinity Space Business School Pvt Ltd.

This session will provide Year 1, Semester 1 students with valuable industry insights, helping them connect classroom-based accounting knowledge with real business practices.

Following the guest lecture, the Financial Accounting Poster Exhibition will be held at the FOB Ground Floor, starting from 11.00 AM.

We warmly invite students, staff members, and all interested participants to visit the exhibition and witness the assignment-based group project work presented by our first-year Financial Accounting students.
