🙏 "Dethis Kunapa" Program Organised by the Department of Anatomy

On August 22, 2026, the Department of Anatomy successfully conducted a special "Dethis Kunapa" program for Buddhist monks and nuns, with the participation of over 30 forest-dwelling (Aranyavasi) sangha members.

This meaningful program is open to anyone interested—both clergy and laypersons.

Dr. Jayampathi Dissanayake Senior Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy, was inducted as the President of the Anatomical Society of Sri Lanka, for the year 2024/2025 on the 20th of March 2025 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya. The Guest of Honor on this auspicious occasion was the Vidya Joti Emeritus Professor Rohan Jayasekara. At the same time, the Chief Guest was Professor Deepika Udagama Chair Professor in Law, Department of Law University of Peradeniya. The Guest Lecture “Functional Anatomy of the Inflow and Outflow of the left ventricle” was delivered by Dr. Muditha Lansakara, Cardiothoracic Surgeon, National Hospital Kandy.
