COVID-19 මර්දන මෙහෙයුමට දායක කර ගැනීම සඳහා පන්නිපිටිය ධර්මපාල විද්‍යාලීය සියලු ගුරුවරුන්ගේ දිනක වැටුප ගරු විදුහල්පති K G විමලසේන මැතිතුමන් අතින් ,අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍ය ගරු ඩලස් අලහප්පෙරුම මැතිතුමන්ගේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් අද (29) ගරු ජනාධිපති ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂ මැතිතුමන් වෙත භාර දෙනු ලැබීය.

පන්නිපිටිය දර්මපාල විද්‍යාලයේ දීප්තිමත් ආදි ශිෂ්‍ය හිටපු ආරක්ෂක මාණ්ඩලික ප්‍රදානී,හිටපු යුද හමුදාපති ලුතිනන් ජනරාල් රොහාන් දලුවත්ත මහතාට නිවන් සැප ලැබේවා ....!

General Rohan Daluwatte, WWV, RWP, RSP, VSV, USP, was born on 9 May 1941 and died on 27 August, 2018. He was a former commander and a General of the Sri Lanka Army. Daluwatte was born in Ambalangoda, a coastal town in the south of Sri Lanka, to D. H. Paulis De Silva, a planter and former athlete, and D. W. Leela Somawathie. He has one sister, Malini and four brothers, Susantha, Pinsiri, Rupasiri and Dhanasiri. He received his primary education in Dharmapala Vidyalaya. Later he was educated at Ananda College Colombo. At school, he was a good sportsman. In 1957 to 1960 he captained the Ananda College Badminton Team, had been a member of the College Tennis Team in 1959 and 1960, and he was the wicket-keeper in the Ananda First XI in 1960. Daluwatte joined the Sri Lanka Army in 1961 as an officer cadet. He took his military training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, United Kingdom. In the Sandhurst Military Academy, he excelled in athletics, badminton and basketball. On 1 May 1996, he was appointed as 14th Army Commander in Sri Lanka by former President Chandrika Kumaratunga. During his tenure in the Army he held important positions such as Chief Instructor of Officer Cadet School in ATC from 1979 to 1981, Commanding Officer,1st Reconnaissance Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps,Commanding Officer of Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, Coordinating Officer Commanding Troops in Mannar, Director-Supplies and Transport, Commandant of Army Training Centre and Military Secretary, Army Headquarters. He was instrumental in establishing the Army Command and Staff College. After his retirement he was promoted to the rank of General and was appointed as the Head of the newly formed Joint Operations Command and later as the Chief of Defense Staff. After retiring from army, he served as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Brazil from 2002 to 2005. Currently, he is the chairman of the Gems and Jewellery Authority Sri Lanka. Also, he is the Chancellor of the Kotalawala Defence University. It was alleged that Daluwatte failed as a military commander and he has also obtained the esteemed Weera Wickrama Vibhushanaya Award by making a false claim and writing his own recommendation. He died at 77 years old

දකුණු කොරියාවේ පැවති ඔලිම්පියාඩ් නව නිපදුම් සදහා වන ලෝක කුසලතා තරඟයට උසස් පෙළ අංශයෙන් ශ්‍රී ලංකාව නියෝජනය කළ කණ්ඩාය⁣මේ නායකත්වය දරන ලද්දේ පන්නිපිටිය ධර්මපාල විද්‍යාලයේ කවිදු පසන් කවිරත්න පුතුනුවන් විසින්ය. ලෝකයේ බෝහෝ රටවල් අභිබවමින් ඔවුන් එම අංශයේ තරඟයෙන් දෙවන ස්ථානය දිනා ගෙන ලොව විශිෂ්ටයන් අතරට එක්වි අැත.
කවිදු පසන් කවිරත්න, ජයග්‍රාහී ධර්මපාල පුතුණුවන් කටුනායක ගුවන් තොටුපලෙන් මවුබිමට පැමිණි මොහොතේ ගුරු දෙගුරුන් විසින් ඔහු පිළිගත් අයුරු.

පහල ගේට්ටුවෙන් ඇතුළුවී ප්‍රධාන ශාලව පසුකර යන මතකයට පිවිසීමටනම් වරක් දෙ ඇස් පියගැනීම පමණක් ප්‍රමණවත් වේ.. මහා පවුරක් ලෙස ප්‍රධාන ශාලව අප පසුබිමෙහි නැගී සිටියි. දම්පල් වේදිකාවට නොනැගි අයෙක් වෙත්ද..? එය නොවිය හැක්කකි. අද අපේ ප්‍රධාන වේදිකාව මොහොතක විරාමයකට එළඹ ඇති සෙයකි... එය නොබෝදිනකින් යලි නැගී සිටිනු ඇත.

ධර්මපාලයේ ප්‍රධාන ශාලාව අපේ ජීවිතය සොදුරු මානයකට රැගෙන ගියා...වේදිකාව නව ලොවකට දොරටු විවර කලා. මේ සූදානම අපේ සොදුරැ වේදිකාව, ප්‍රධාන ශාලාව මතු පරපුර උදෙසාද තිලින කිරීමටයි.
