The Karate mindset.
It all starts in your head. To master the art of karate, you will need to exercise these key mindsets.
Shoshin - meaning a beginner’s mind.
Based on being open minded and able to learn without preconceived ideas, judgment, or bias. Your mind is like a sponge and it does not work if you don’t feed it with positive thoughts.
Mushin - which means no mind.
It refers to the ability of being empty-minded whilst fully focused on one particular goal.
Fudoshin - which means immovable mind.
This is the ability to ignore outside voices and stay focus, setting your mind on the goal and leaving no room for distractions.
Zanshin - Japanese for the remaining mind.
The ability to stay focused on the objective whilst identifying any potential risks.

Shihan Clint Williams
Taking up the discipline at the age of 11, Shihan Clint Williams started training in 1981 under karate legend, master M.B.D Silva, the only Karateka in South Asia to be awarded the 10th dan rank.
Shihan Clint Williams quickly won the love of master M.B.D Silva due to his unwavering dedication and hard work towards the art and traveled to many areas of the country alongside his sensei doing stage shows to create awareness of the sport.
After many years of employment in Japan, Shihan Clint Williams returned to Sri Lanka and established his very own dojo, and began coaching, with only two students under his instruction initially.
The 6th dan Black Belt holder and former SLKF Western Province Vice President is now the Chief instructor of Koushikai Karate in Sri Lanka, managing over 700 students (who he constantly refers to as "My Children") across several schools and private classes.
