🌕 පොසොන් පොහොය 🌕
අද වැනි උතුම් පොසොන් පොහෝ දිනය ශ්රී ලංකාවේ බෞද්ධ ඉතිහාසයේ අතිශය වැදගත් දිනයකි. මෙය ලක්දිවට බුදු දහම වැඩම කළ උතුම් සිදුවීම සිහිපත් කරයි.
ක්රි.පූ. 3වන සියවසේදී අනුබුදු මිහිඳු මහ රහතන් වහන්සේ ලංකාදීපයට වැඩම කළහ. එහිදී දේවානම්පියතිස්ස රජු හමුවී බුදු දහම දේශනා කිරීමත් සමඟ ශ්රී ලංකාවේ සම්බුද්ධ ශාසනයේ ආරම්භය සිදුවිය.
මිහිඳු හිමියන් රජුට චුල්ලහත්ථිපදෝපම සූත්රය දේශනා කරමින් බුදු දහමේ මූලික සත්යයන් පැහැදිලි කළහ. එමඟින් රජු ඇතුළු පිරිස බුදු දහම පිළිගැනීමට පෙළඹුණි.
එමෙන්ම, ජනතාවට දෙවියන්, යක්ෂයන්, වෘක්ෂ සහ පර්වත ආදී වන්දනා වල අනිත්යතාව පෙන්වා දී සත්ය ධර්මය වෙත යොමු කළහ.
මෙම උතුම් සිදුවීම් සිදුවූ ප්රධාන ස්ථානය ලෙස Mihintale මිහින්තලය සැලකේ. එතැන් සිට ශ්රී ලංකාවේ බෞද්ධ ශාසනය ස්ථිරව පිහිටුවන ලදී.
අද දිනයේ අප සැමටම සිල් සමාදන් වීම, බණ ඇසීම, භාවනා කිරීම සහ දානමය ක්රියාවල නිරත වීමෙන් පින් රැස් කරගැනීමට අවස්ථාව ලැබේ.

🌕 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐲𝐚 🌕
Poson Poya is one of the most sacred and historically significant days for Buddhists in Sri Lanka. It commemorates the arrival of Buddhism to the island.
In the 3rd century BCE, Mahinda Thera arrived in Sri Lanka and met King Devanampiya Tissa. This historic encounter marked the beginning of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
Ven. Mahinda Thera delivered the Cūḷahatthipadopama Sutta to the King, explaining the core teachings of the Buddha. As a result, the King and his followers embraced Buddhism.
He also guided people away from the worship of deities, spirits, trees, and mountains, helping them understand the true Dhamma.
This sacred event is believed to have taken place at Mihintale, which became the cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
On this special day, devotees engage in meritorious activities such as observing precepts, listening to sermons, meditation, and acts of generosity.
