ge). Objectives of Innovation School Programme
1.To enhance the creative skills and attitudes of school going students (of selected ten schools) before they reach GCE-O/L horizon.
2.To help the school-going children to build their self-confidence, expand imagination and become solution minded citizens in future.
3.To provide necessary guidance, mentoring and material support for the thriving students/groups to carry forward innovation projects and related experiments.
4.To promote creative competitiveness and reward the winners through an Innovation Competition.
5.To set-up sustainable Innovation Societies, upgrade the skills of relevant teacher in every selected school. Target Group
Originally there are four main target groups for Innovation School programme. They are;
•School students from grade seven to ten.
•Undergraduates (1st and second years of national universities).
•School leavers and dropouts (mainly unemployed). Innovation School is a three months school-based educational programme which mainly comprises of six practical steps. They are;
• skill camp-one,
• skill camp-two,
• group-based innovation competition,
• follow-up support period (advisory support),
• mini-exhibition and certificate awarding ceremony.
• evaluation of personal improvements (in six months/12 months)
Expected outcomes/KPIs
•More than 80% of students will become motivated and goal oriented in their studies.
•More than 60% of students will keep experimenting simple creative work after the programme.
•Student’s problem solving skill will be enhanced.
•Solution minded thinking will be unleashed through practical exercise.
•Innovation school not only talks about technological innovations but also about creative problem solving and life innovation techniques. So the students become competent in using positive creativity, in day to day decision making.
•Nearly 26% of the students will come-up with amazingly new ideas/replicas or products.
