St. John's College

ශාන්ත ජෝන් විද්‍යාලය - නුගේගොඩ In 1935 the Warden of S. Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia - Rev. John's College, Nugegoda.

Established in 1915 with 15 Students as a mixed English Anglican School was begun on a piece of land where Rev John Henry Wickramanayake the then Vicar of the Church of St.John had from the Bishop of Colombo. Canon Reginald Stewart de Saram laid the foundations for the Boys School which was named the St.

Poster design to mark the silver jubilee of the school in 1940. Initially there were two schools one for boys (College of S. John) and one for girls (S. John's Girl's School). Later girl's school renamed as Samudradevi.
