Micro:bit Educational Foundation

The National ICT Awards (widely known as NBQSA) is organized to showcase the best ICT products developed in Sri Lanka and to recognize achievements, innovation and excellence in the field of ICT in Sri Lanka. NBQSA has been organized by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka Section since 1998. This year marks the 23rd anniversary of holding this prestigious event.

Several categories at NBQSA are open for Universities/Tertiary Education Institutes:
Tertiary Student Projects - Technology
Tertiary Student Projects - Business
Postgraduate Student Projects

Winners in each of these categories will be awarded trophies and certificates and will be eligible to compete in the Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) . We hope to conduct an awareness session for NBQSA 2021 focusing on Universities / Tertiary Education Institutes on Saturday 12th June 2021 - 10.00 a.m. to 11.30 am (Webinar) Interested students can join this webinar by following the registration link

අභිමානවත් ඉතිහාසයකට උරුමකම් ලබන දකුණු ආසියාවේ විශිෂ්ටතම කළමනාකරණ අධ්‍යයන හා වාණිජ විද්‍යා පීඨය හිමි ශ්‍රී ජයවර්ධනපුර විශ්ව විද්‍යාලය තුළ තම උසස් අධ්‍යාපනය හැදෑරීම වාණිජ විෂය හදාරන සුවහසක් දරු දැරියන්ගේ සිහිනයකි.
පනස් දහසක් ඉක්මවූ විද්‍යාර්ථයන් ට සාර්ථකත්වයේ දොරටු විවර කර දුන් කළමනාකරණ පීඨය, උපාධි පාඨමාලා 12ක් සහ පුළුල් විෂය පථයක් තුළින් තම විද්‍යාර්ථයන් පෝෂණය කර ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පමණක් නොව මුළු මහත් ලෝකයේම ආර්ථික හා වාණිජ කළමනාකාර ක්ෂේත්‍රයට දායාද කිරීමේ මහඟු කර්තව්‍යය ඉටු කරයි.

දිනෙන් දින දියුණු වන තාක්ෂණය ලොව සෑම ක්ෂේත්‍රයක් තුළම පෙරළියත් ඇති කරන්නට විය. ඊට පිළිතුරක් වශයෙන් කාලෝචිත අවශ්‍යතාවය මත ශ්‍රී ජයවර්ධනපුර විශ්ව විද්‍යාලය 2001 වර්ෂයේ දී ලංකාවේ ප්‍රථම වරට කළමණාකරන හා තොරතුරු තාක්ෂණ ඒකාබද්ධ උපාධි පාඨමාලාවක් විද්‍යාවෙදි ව්‍යාපාර තොරතුරු පද්ධති (විශේෂ )
නමින් හඳුන්වා දෙන ලදී.

වර්තමානයේ පවත්නා වූ තත්වය හමුවේ බෙහෙවින් කාලෝචිත වූ උපාධි පාඨමාලාවක් වන මෙය වඩාත් සුවිශේෂී වනුයේ කළමනාකරණ හා තොරතුරු තාක්ෂණය යන දෙඅංශයටම අදාල වූ විෂයන්ගේ සුසංයෝජනයක් වීමයි.
විවිධාංගීකරණය වූ දැනුම හා කුසලතා සමඟ එක් වූ ආකල්ප, නම්‍යශීලී තාවය හා අනුවර්තනය වීමේ හැකියාවෙන් සමන්විත මෙම පාඨමාලාවේ අවසන් නිමැවුම වනුයේ සමාජයට හා ව්‍යාපාරික ලෝකයට වඩාත් උචිත වූ කාලෝචිත විද්‍යාර්ථයෙකු බිහිකිරීමයි.

ඔබ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය තුළ ගත කරන සිව් වසර පුරාවට සංවිධානය කරනු ලබන විවිධ විනෝදාස්වාද ක්‍රියාකාරකම්, තරගාවලි, ක්ෂේත්‍ර චාරිකා වැනි විෂය සමගාමී හා බාහිර ක්‍රියාකාරකම් ඔබේ විශ්ව විද්‍යාල මතකයන් අතර සුන්දර මතකයන් වන බව නොඅනුමානයි.
ඊට අමතරව S@IT නම් දෙපාර්තමේන්තු ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමය විසින් සංවිධානය කරනු ලබන රජ්‍ය හා පෞද්ගලික අංශයේ තොරතුරු තාක්ෂණය හා සම්බන්ධ ප්‍රධාන ආයතන සහ සුවිශේෂී වෘත්තීමය පුද්ගලයන් මගින් සිදු කරනු ලබන දේශන හා සම්මන්ත්‍රණ මගින් කාලීන තොරතුරු හා වෘත්තිමය අවශ්‍යතා පිළිබඳ අවබෝධයක් ලබා ගැනීමට ඔබට මෙහිදී ඉඩහසර ලැබෙනු ඇත.
තවද මෙම උපාධි පාඨමාලාව හදාරන ඔබට ඔබේ අධ්‍යාපන කටයුතු සාර්ථක කර ගැනීම සඳහා ලැබෙන තවත් එක් සුවිශේෂී වරප්‍රසාදයක් ලෙස Microsoft Sri Lanka පෞද්ගලික සමාගම සමඟ ඇති කරගත් අවබෝධතා ගිවිසුමක් මගින් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ සිසුන්ට තෝරාගත් Microsoft මෘදුකාංග නොමිලේ පරිශීලනය කිරීමට හැකියාව ලබා දීමයි.

ව්‍යාපාර තොරතුරු පද්ධති විශේෂ පාඨමාලාව මගින් පුළුල් පරාසයක පවතින රැකියාවන්ට අවශ්‍ය සුදුසුකම් සපුරාලීමේ හැකියාවක් පවතී. මෙහිදී ඇති සුවිශේෂීත්වය වන්නේ ඔබේ අනාගත සිහින රැකියාව කළමනාකාරිත්වය හෝ තාක්ෂණය යන දෙඅංශයෙන් ඔබ වඩාත් ප්‍රිය කරන අංශයකට යොමු වීමේ වරම ඔබ සතු වීමයි.

මෙම පාඨමාලාව හදාරන ඔබට ව්‍යාපාර විශ්ලේෂක(Business Analyst ), පද්ධති විශ්ලේෂක(System Analyst), පද්ධති කළමනාකරු(System Manager), තොරතුරු තාක්ෂණ උපදේශක(IT Consultant), තත්ත්ව සහතික කළමනාකරු(QA Manager) , ව්‍යාපෘති කළමනාකරු(Project Manager) වැනි තාක්ෂණික අංශයේ එන තනතුරු මගින් සිය වෘත්තිය ජීවිතය ආරම්භ කළ හැකි අතර වැඩිදුර අධ්‍යාපනය හා වෘත්තීමය පළපුරුද්ද මගින් මෘදුකාංග ඉංජිනේරු(Software Engineer), දත්ත සමුදා පරිපාලන(Database Administrator), ජාල පරිපාලන(Network Administrator) වැනි තනතුරු සඳහාද අවධානය යොමු කළ හැක.කළමනාකරණ අංශයේ වෘත්තියකට කැමැත්ත දක්වන උපාධිධාරීන්ට ගිණුම්කරණ(Accounting) , අලෙවිකරණ(Marketing ), මානව සම්පත්කළමනාකරණ(Human Resource Management), මෙහෙයුම්(Operation Management) වැනි ඕනෑම ක්ෂේත්‍රයක රැකියාවකට මෙම උපාධිය සමග අයදුම්කර වෘත්තීය ජීවිතය සාර්ථක කර ගැනීමේ හැකියාව ඇත.

ලොව ජයගත් ජය ගත් විද්‍යාර්ථයන් රැසකට මුල් අත්පොත් තැබූ ශ්‍රී ජයවර්ධනපුර විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ ව්‍යාපාර තොරතුරු පද්ධති (විශේෂ) උපාධි පාඨමාලාවේ උපාධිධාරියකු වී විශිෂ්ටයන් අතර විශිෂ්ටයකු ලෙස කිරුළු පළඳින්නට ඔබ සැමට කරන ගෞරවනීය ඇරයුමයි මේ .....

Mr. Chaminda Rajapakse, Director at Metropolitan Computers was a former Alumnus of FMSC, USJ and I had the privilege of teaching IT. He always lent his hand to student projects whenever I contacted him. I vividly remember his magnanimous donations on behalf of Metropolitan for our Inaugural D-Hack Design Hackathon in 2019. It was a few days for the competition, and our students had difficulty attracting sponsors, where he supported us with no hesitation on one call. His untimely passing away will be irreplaceable for many who knew him. Chaminda, May you attain the supreme bliss of Nibbana.

I would like to thank all staff members from DIT@USJ who placed trust in me in 2019 for a two year term as the Senior Treasurer of S@IT, the official student association of the Department. On the day that I'm concluding my two year term, I'm glad that S@IT has been able to initiate the D-Hack Design Hackathon with the support of Mr. Dulan Dias , and run it virtually for the second time during the pandemic.
It has been a pleasure to work with Dulan Jayarathna and his committee this year. Furthermore, I'm glad that I have been able to connect our Alumni and the Industry with S@IT for the benefit of the student community.
