The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, is pleased to share the successful launch of “Strategic Insights: Multidisciplinary Case Studies in Business & Finance,” authored by Prof. Chandana Gunathilaka, Professor in Finance, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Published by CA Sri Lanka, the book was launched on 25th May 2026 at CA Sri Lanka. The publication aims to strengthen strategic thinking, enhance decision-making, and bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world application in business and finance.
The launch ceremony was graced by Mr. Tishan Subasinghe, President of CA Sri Lanka; Ms. Anoji De Silva, Vice President of CA Sri Lanka; members of the Council of CA Sri Lanka; Mr. Sanjaya Bandara, Chairperson of the Examinations Committee; Past Presidents; and Ms. Lakmali Priyangika, Chief Executive Officer of CA Sri Lanka.
The occasion was further enriched by the presence of the author, Prof. Chandana Gunathilaka; keynote speaker Senior Prof. D. B. P. H. Dissabandara, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka; Guest of Honour Senior Prof. Muditha Vidanapathirana, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Uva Wellassa University; and special invitee Prof. Dushan Jayawickrama, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, along with distinguished academics, students, CA members, and industry representatives.

Shaping Future Business Leaders Through Industry Collaboration
A Significant Milestone in Strengthening Industry–Academia Collaboration
The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC), University of Sri Jayewardenepura, proudly entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KSR Associates (Chartered Accountants), marking another important step in strengthening industry–academia collaboration.
This strategic partnership aims to foster knowledge exchange, enhance industry exposure, and create meaningful career opportunities for undergraduates, while aligning management education with the evolving demands of the corporate sector.
FMSC and KSR Associates agreed to collaborate in a spirit of mutual understanding, building a strong relationship grounded in goodwill and a shared vision for future growth and development.
The MOU was signed by Senior Professor M. M. Pathmalal (Vice Chancellor), Prof. Dushan Jayawickrama (Dean, FMSC), and Prof. Sumudu Perera (Coordinator, Industry Liaison Office), representing the University. Representing KSR Associates were Mr. D. S. K. Rasaputhra (Managing Partner), Mr. Kasun Wickramasinghe (Partner), and Mr. Kavindu Prabhashwara (Consultant).
Both parties look forward to exploring further avenues of collaboration beyond the initial scope, recognizing the dynamic and evolving nature of academia–industry partnerships.

It is with profound sadness that the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, mourns the passing of Senior Professor Nalin Abeysekara, former Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies, Open University of Sri Lanka.
An esteemed alumnus of the Department of Marketing Management, FMSC, Prof. Abeysekara remained continuously connected with the Faculty throughout his distinguished academic and professional career. We take great pride in his legacy, which stands as a reflection of the values and excellence nurtured within our Faculty. He was not only an eminent academic and visionary leader, but also a valued friend of FMSC. Over the years, he collaborated closely with our academic departments, consistently extending his support to Faculty initiatives and contributing meaningfully to our academic community. His selfless contributions to the Faculty, the University, and to the advancement of higher education in Sri Lanka are deeply appreciated and will be remembered with gratitude and respect.
We remember him not only for his intellectual brilliance, but also for his humility, warmth, and the lasting professional relationships he built across institutions. His passing is a profound loss to the academic community of Sri Lanka.
May his noble soul attain the Supreme Bliss of Nirvana.
