The fourth event of Confianza 2017 was held on the 6th of April 2017 at an elders home in Meegoda. It was organized as a means of giving back to the community for the privileges we have been afforded by them.
Lunch, tea and other basic necessities were provided for the elders living in very poor and helpless conditions and arrangements were made to provide them with assistance to build the home to accommodate more elders. Not only did the members and well-wishers of the society provide them with material needs, but entertainment in the form of songs and dance were provided with the sole intention of bringing a smile to their weary faces. ❤️

Confianza 2017 was concluded successfully on the 7th of April 2017 with the completion of Tilasto - the Statistics Evening.

Giving back to the community ❤️

Estadistica – the annual Statistics convention is held with the aim of exposing students from different
universities to each other as well as various industrial experts. It aims to create a strong bond between
students and the industry and expose students to the requirements of the industry as well as reveal how
their knowledge is being put to use in the industry.
The theme for the event this year is “Financial Statistics” and will feature a number of guest lecturers who
will impart their knowledge on the subject as well as practical demonstrations of applications. A panel
discussion featuring several experts in the area will be one of the featured events. It will also test
participating students’ knowledge and quick thinking skills by engaging them in a quiz competition that pits
them against each other and promotes practical statistical knowledge.

Exousia II is a Statistics workshop of the same nature as Exousia I, however this will be conducted within university premises for students following Statistics in the commerce and arts streams. This was inaugurated due to the large number of requests received to hold such a workshop for commerce students at last year’s.This time it was successfully completed at University premises on 4th of April 2017.

Exousia I is a Statistics workshop for A/L students following the mathematics stream providing them with the knowledge and skills needed to face their exams with confidence and ability. It aims to create interest in students to learn and involve themselves in Statistics by providing them with statistical concepts through our very own experienced and enthusiastic lecturers in a novel and interesting manner. This time it was successfully completed at Yashodara Devi Balika Vidyalaya - Gampaha, on 3rd of April 2017.
