DSC4272: Personality and Skill Development – Session 08
The Department of Decision Sciences successfully conducted Session 08 of the course “Personality and Skill Development” for fourth-year undergraduates, focusing on enhancing students’ personal growth, well-being, and professional development.
The session offered valuable insights into health, mindfulness, personal well-being, and work–life balance, emphasizing the importance of maintaining both mental and physical wellness while pursuing a successful career. Students gained practical knowledge and meaningful guidance to support their personal and professional journeys.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Director and trainers of the Mindfulness Program from the Sati Pasala Foundation, who generously shared their expertise and experiences with our students:

DSC4272: Personality and Skill Development – Session 07
The Department of Decision Sciences successfully conducted the 7th session of the Personality and Skill Development Series on the theme “Aesthetics, Values, and Attitude Development.” The session was delivered by Senior Professor Saman Chandra Ranasinghe from the Department of Languages, Cultural Studies and Performing Arts, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
The session offered valuable insights into the importance of aesthetics, the development of strong values, and the cultivation of positive attitudes essential for personal growth and professional success. Students gained meaningful understanding of how values and attitudes shape character, leadership, and responsible decision-making.

The Department of Decision Sciences successfully conducted a special guest lecture on “Public Speaking and Professional Presentation Skills,” delivered by Prof. K. M. Thilini D. Gunasekera from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
The session provided valuable insights into effective communication, confident delivery, and professional presentation techniques essential for academic and career success. Students gained practical knowledge on structuring speeches, engaging audiences, and developing strong personal presence in professional settings.

OTMURUS 26
Operations and Technology Management Undergraduate Research Symposium 2026
The Department of Decision Sciences, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, successfully hosted OTMURUS 26 on 16th February 2026, held in conjunction with the ICBM Research Week: Undergraduate Research Day (URD). The symposium featured outstanding undergraduate research presentations, with students showcasing innovative work in operations, technology management, and related fields, reflecting their creativity, critical thinking, and dedication.
Special thanks are extended to the Head of the Department, Senior Lecturer LHT De S Wickramsuriya, for his support and guidance, and to Mrs. Dileepa Endagamage, Senior Lecturer and Coordinator of the Department Research Center, for her exemplary leadership and guidance in coordinating this significant academic event. Appreciation is also due to the Organizing Committee, particularly Ms. Chathrika Jayasuriya and Ms. Rumeshi Thamoda, for their exceptional coordination and efforts in ensuring the smooth ex*****on of the symposium.
