A Historic Bowling Feat by Josephian Cricketer, Nushan Perera

Congratulations to Nushan Perera on an extraordinary and record-breaking performance for St. Joseph’s College!
Nushan delivered a superb spell of bowling against St. Servatius’ College, Matara, claiming a match bag of 16 wickets for just 66 runs, guiding the Joes to an innings and 2-run victory in their Division 1, Tier A, two-day encounter at Darley Road.
In the first innings, Nushan produced a devastating spell of 8 wickets for 36 runs in 14 overs, restricting St. Servatius’ to 122.

When the Joes posted a strong total of 236 for 9 wickets, he returned once again with outstanding accuracy and control, capturing another 8 wickets for 30 runs in 17 overs in the second innings.

This performance makes him:
The first Josephian bowler to take three 8-wicket hauls in a single innings, all against St. Servatius College across the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons.
The first Josephian ever to secure a 16-wicket match bag in a First XI match.

Nushan’s consistency, discipline, and match-winning skill rightfully mark him as the hero of the game and an inspiration to every young Josephian cricketer.
