🕉️In yoga, rubbing your hands together and then placing them over your eyes is a practice called palming.

🌻 This simple yet powerful gesture combines warmth, visual rest, and energy to prepare for or conclude a session.

🌻 The main reasons for this gesture:

✨ Generating heat (thermal energy): Rubbing your hands vigorously together creates heat. This energy is then transferred to the eyes, increasing blood flow and relaxing the eye muscles, which are heavily strained throughout the day.

✨ Immersing the eyes in restorative darkness: The palms form “cups” that envelop the eyes in darkness without pressing on the eyeballs. The darkness sends a signal to the brain to reduce visual activity, allowing for deep rest.

✨ Practice Pratyahara: This is a form of sensory withdrawal that helps disconnect from external stimuli (light, images), reduce mental noise, and refocus on one’s inner sensations.

✨ Activate the nervous system: The hands contain a vast number of nerve endings. The tactile contact of the palms on the face soothes the autonomic nervous system.

🌻 Depending on when the gesture is performed, its purpose varies slightly:
✨Before the session: It helps facilitate a transition, block out external distractions, and bring the mind into a state of concentration and presence.

✨ After the session: It helps protect the newly stimulated energy, gently bring the senses back to the present, and rest the eyes after the effort of concentration.

🎶 I use Koshi chimes at the beginning of yoga classes to help students focus their thoughts, center themselves, relax, and prepare for the session.
I also use them at the end of the session during meditation and relaxation.

✅ By focusing your attention on the sensation of your feet touching the ground and on your breathing, you can stop the flow of distracting thoughts and calm your nervous system.

✅ For many people, sitting still in silence is difficult. Mindful walking offers a moving alternative that is often more accessible to beginners or those who find it hard to sit still.

👉 You can practice mindful walking at home down a hallway, or in a park for just 5 to 10 minutes, simply by matching your steps to the natural rhythm of your breathing.🧘

🌿 Ce qu’on ne voit pas toujours derrière un cours de yoga…🧘‍♀️

🌈 Être prof de yoga, ce n’est pas seulement arriver avec un tapis et dire :
“inspirez… expirez” 😄

✅ C’est essayer de retenir tous les prénoms pour que chacun se sente vu et accueilli.

✅ Se souvenir des blessures, des douleurs, des limitations… pour toujours proposer une option adaptée.

✅ C’est préparer ses cours, répéter ses flows, tester des variations accessibles à tous… parfois pendant des heures.

✅ C’est aussi changer complètement la séance au dernier moment parce que l’énergie du groupe demande autre chose que ce qui était prévu.

✅ C’est donner de son énergie, de sa présence et de son attention, même quand notre propre quotidien est chargé.

✅ C’est douter parfois.
Continuer même quand les cours ne sont pas pleins.
🎯 Et transmettre malgré tout, avec sincérité et passion.

🎯 Parce qu’au fond, être prof de yoga, ce n’est pas seulement enseigner des postures.
C’est créer un espace où chacun peut respirer, se sentir accueilli… et repartir un peu plus léger 🌿

🎊 Vesak (ou Wesak) est un jour très particulier pour les bouddhistes, c'est la fête la plus sacrée. En fait, il est considéré comme le jour le plus important du calendrier Bouddhiste !✨

🎊 Elle célèbre le "triple anniversaire" de Siddhartha Gautama Buddha : sa naissance, son illumination (l'éveil) et son pari nirvana (son décès et son entrée dans le Nirvana).

🎊 On la fête chaque année le dimanche le plus proche de la pleine lune de mai. Célébrées par les bouddhistes du monde entier, les dates exactes peuvent différer d'un pays à l'autre.

🎊 Les lanternes de Vesak: les rues se parent de lanternes en papier ou en bambou faites à la main (appelées Vesak koodu). A la nuit tombée, elles sont illuminées pour symboliser la lumière de la sagesse.

🎊 Le recueillement: les fidèles s'habillent en blanc et se rendent dans les temples afin de prier, méditer et pratiquer la générosité.

🎊 Les Dansalas: des stands de nourriture et de boissons gratuites sont installés dans les rues par les habitants pour offrir l'aumône aux passants, dans un esprit de partage et de compassion.
