BCAS Mount Campus

British College of Applied Studies (BCAS) is a modern tertiary education institution that offers courses in applied training in a variety of trades.

We give students the skills they require to work both in Sri Lanka and International market place. Established in 1999, British College of Applied Studies (now popularly known as BCAS Campus) has rapidly grown into a leading educational provider in Sri Lanka with a large number of students (3,500). BCAS has strong international collaboration, especially with the University of Wolverhampton, UK. B

esides two main campuses in Colombo (City Campus) and Mount Lavinia (Mount Campus) in the Western Province, BCAS has branches in five key cities in Sri Lanka, namely, Kandy, Jaffna, Kurunegala, Batticaloa and Kalmunai with a highly successful overseas centre in the State of Qatar. Plans are under way to open another centre in Saudi Arabia as well. The institution is highly esteemed for its exceptional quality, international recognition and market relevant training. To top it all, BCAS was selected as the First of the Five Top higher education providers in Sri Lanka in 2013 by an independent survey conducted by an organization hired by Sri Lanka’s pioneering business magazine LMD. Currently more than 3500 students follow their chosen courses of study at BCAS - Quantity Surveying, IT, Law, Business Management, Telecom Engineering, Civil Engineering and Bio-medical Science. These courses are delivered at HND (Edexcel/Pearson, UK) as well as at degree levels. MSc in Construction Project Management, MBA and LLM (Professional Practice) are the three Master’s programme delivered by us. International Collaborations
Our relationship with the University of Wolverhampton was established in 2005 with an agreement to transfer students completing BTEC HND in QS to do their BSc (Hons) in QS in the UK. Thus the first batch of 30 students were transferred to the university in 2006. This trend continued steadily and more than 450 students earned their degrees directly from the University between 2006 and 2012. With the introduction of in-country delivery of degrees at BCAS in Colombo in 2011 and formalization of the first agreement to that effect, the number of students applying for direct entry to the university gradually dwindled as the students found it economical to earn the degree here in Sri Lanka. Thereafter, successively, several MoUs were signed to deliver the university’s selected degree programmes in Colombo at BCAS itself – BSc (Hons) QS, LLB (2011), BABM, MBA (2012), MSc – CPM (2014), LLM Professional Practice (2015), (BSc (Hons) Bio-medical Sciences (2015). The other university we work with is London South Bank University and we deliver their BSc (Hons) degree in Commercial Management (QS) and BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering while our relationship with the Edexcel, UK (now known as Pearson, UK) dates back to 2002.
