Scouting Adventure to Horton Plains – March 2026

A group of Senior Scouts from the 4th Moratuwa Scout Group of St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa successfully completed a camping expedition at Horton Plains from 19th to 22nd March 2026.
As a highlight of this memorable journey, the scouts undertook a challenging hike to Kirigalpoththa Mountain, the second highest peak in Sri Lanka, on 22nd March 2026. This remarkable achievement stands as a testament to their courage, endurance, and team spirit.

The expedition was conducted under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Terrance Prasanga (Priest-in-Charge of Scouting) and Mr. Nishanth Fernando (Leader of the Scouting Group), whose leadership and support were invaluable throughout the journey.

A/L Business Studies Seminar – Commerce Day 2026

The Commerce Society of St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa, successfully organized a Business Studies Seminar for Advance Level students on 30th March 2026, in line with the celebrations of Commerce Day 2026.

This insightful academic programme was conducted with the participation of Advanced Level students of our college, along with students from neighbouring schools, fostering a collaborative learning environment and broadening subject knowledge.
The seminar was enriched by the expertise of distinguished resource persons, including Dr. Premaratne Gamage from the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, and Mr. A. Dayal Peiris, Resource Person for Advanced Level Business Studies of the Kalutara Education Zone. Their valuable guidance and practical insights greatly benefited the students in strengthening their understanding of key business concepts.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Imperial College of Business Studies and the School Development Society of St. Sebastian’s College for their generous sponsorship and continuous support in making this event a success. Notably, scholarships were also awarded to students by Imperial College of Business Studies, further encouraging academic excellence and future aspirations in the field of business studies.

REDIVIVUS ’26 – Beach Cleaning Initiative
The Commerce Society of St. Sebastian’s College successfully organized the REDIVIVUS ’26 Beach Cleaning Event on 29th March 2026 at Koralawella Beach. We extend our sincere gratitude to all volunteers and supporters who joined us from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to help restore and protect our coastline.

This meaningful and productive project brought together enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment, helping to realize our vision: “Together for a Cleaner Coast.” It made a significant impact in preserving our environment.
