Students of St. Sebastian’s College proudly displayed their colours at the Western Province Individual Chess Championship 2026 and successfully qualified for the All Island Finals.

Under 12 Category
• Master Thiven Fernando(7S2) achieved an excellent score of 5/7 and was awarded a Merit Certificate.
• The Under 12 age category had 575 participants.

Under 14 Category
• Master Riveen Fernando(9E) achieved an impressive score of 5/7 and was awarded a Merit Certificate.
• The Under 14 age category had 469 participants.

We warmly congratulate both students on their outstanding achievements and appreciate their dedication, hard work, and commitment to bringing honour to St. Sebastian’s College.

Huge congratulations to the 26th Battalion Cadet Platoon of St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa, for emerging as the Overall Runners-Up at the NCC Assessment Camp (Phase III - 2026)! 🇱🇰✨

After an intense competition, our boys pushed through to secure the 2nd place overall standing with a massive 1291.98 marks, right behind the overall champions S. Thomas' College.

Our platoon put on a stellar performance across the board, securing top achievements:

🏆 Weapon Drill Test (Mechanical Drill) – 2nd Place
🥈 Director's Test – 2nd Place
🥈 Physical Training (PT) Test – 1st Place
🥈 Presentation Test – 2nd Place

🏅 Best Cadet in Weapon Drill: Conferred to Sergeant De Mel S.B. (26/DC/B/0512) for his outstanding individual brilliance!

We are incredibly proud to announce that the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) for the 26th Battalion is our very own Warrant Officer Silva L.N.R.! He makes history as the first-ever RSM in the college's glorious 41 years of cadet history!
