A full-time Research Assistant position is available for a research project on Large Language Models (LLMs) at the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, University of Moratuwa, under the supervision of Prof. Uthayasanker Thayasivam.

The research focuses on developing and optimizing LLMs, training and fine-tuning transformer-based models, and building efficient training and inference systems using large-scale datasets and GPU infrastructure.

This position is particularly suitable for individuals interested in pursuing higher studies, preferably MPhil or PhD, and building a strong AI/ML research and publication profile. The appointment is for 12–36 months (full-time) with an attractive monthly stipend and access to high-performance NVIDIA GPU computing resources.

The research focuses on automated backporting, automated program repair, and explainable automated program repair. The position is particularly suitable for recent graduates who are interested in pursuing higher studies (MSc/PhD) and building a strong research and publication profile. The appointment is for 12 months (extendable), with an attractive monthly stipend.
