The primary purpose of this New Year festival is to teach children to respect the country's traditions and values and continue them in the future. Especially traditional games, customs, etc.

We try to maintain religious and national harmony in the country from childhood through practising "නෑගම් යාම" (Nagam Yama) from the Sinhala house to the Tamil house and from the Tamil house to the Sinhala house.

Thai Pongal is a harvest festival celebrated by Tamil Hindus in India and Sri Lanka over many days.

Our purpose in celebrating Thai Pongal in our preschool is to teach children to create harmony in the country by understanding and respecting the traditions of every religion and culture from an early age.
