Inauguration Ceremony of the 8th Intake โ MSc in Occupational Safety and Health Management Programme!
We are excited to share the news on the inauguration programme of the 8th intake of our MSc in Occupational Safety and Health Management Programme which was successfully held on 23rd August at the University of Moratuwa.
The event featured several distinguished guests whose insights and presence made the day even more special:

Guest of Honour & Keynote Speaker: Mr. Ramesh Nanayakkara, Country Head, Ansell Sri Lanka Operations
Special Guest: Mr. Kesava Murali Kanapathy, Head, Better Work Sri Lanka Program, ILO & IFC
We extend our deepest gratitude to Prof. Nayanthara De Silva, the visionary founder of this program and our Head of Department, whose leadership and unwavering support have been pivotal to its success. Additionally, a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Dumindu Soorige, the Programme Coordinator, for his outstanding contributions and commitment to guiding this new batch of students.
Further, We are also grateful to all academic and non-academic staff for their dedication in many ways throughout the time.
Special thanks to Ms. Miyuki Natasha (Assistant Programme Coordinator) and Ms. Ayosha (Programme Admin Assistant) for their invaluable support in the smooth administration of the programme.

(a) The Honours degree of Bachelor of Science in Facilities Management of the University of Moratuwa with a minimum of one year experience,
OR
(b) An Honours Bachelorโs degree of the University of Moratuwa and a minimum of one year appropriate experience, as may be approved by the Senate,
OR
(c) Any other Honours Bachelorโs degree from a recognised University with a minimum of one year appropriate experience, as may be approved by the Senate,
OR
(d) A three year degree conducted by the University of Moratuwa and a minimum of two years appropriate experience, as may be approved by the Senate,
OR

Classes are scheduled conveniently on Fridays from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 7:30 pm.

M.Sc./ PG Dip in OSHM Programme is structured to offer specialized areas of current importance in the industry. The program objectives include training graduates with hands-on working knowledge and general understanding of all aspects in management of occupational safety and health including OSH Management in Facilities, Legal Aspects of OSH & Welfare, Psychology and Stress Management, Safety and Health in Workplace Planning & Ergonomics, Environmental Sustainability, Risk Management, Disaster Management, Human Resource Management and Business Statistics.

First Year: The students will follow a lecture series including assignments which are designed to be intensive but scheduled to suit the busy schedule of the working professional.
Second Year: The students will undertake the writing of a dissertation in a significant area selected in the field of occupational safety and health under the guidance of a supervisor appointed by the programme co-ordinator.
๐ฃ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ฅ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ฅ๐ฌ: on every Friday (4.00pm โ 7.00pm) and Saturday (8.00 am to 7.30 pm).

Those who possess following qualification are eligible to apply:

The Course fee for the first academic year and second academic year are Rs.225,000/- and Rs.125,000/- respectively.
The registration fee per semester is Rs.1,500/- (First year - Rs.4,500/- and Second year - Rs.3,000/-).
In addition a refundable deposit of Rs.2,500/- (for library facilities) and an examination fee of Rs.500/- is payable at the registration.
