ප්රවාහන සේවා සඳහා මගී ඩ්රෝන (Passenger drone) සේවාවක් මෙරටට හඳුන්වා දීමේ හැකියාව පිළිබඳව ශ්රී ලංකාව මූලික සාකච්ඡා ආරම්භ කර ඇති අතර, චීනයේ ප්රමුඛතම ස්වයංක්රීය ගුවන් වාහන නිෂ්පාදන සමාගමක් වන EHang සමාගම සිය නවීන තාක්ෂණය මෙරට රජයේ නිලධාරීන් වෙත ප්රදර්ශනය කර තිබේ.
වරාය, නාවික හා සිවිල් ගුවන් සේවා අමාත්යාංශයේදී පැවැති විශේෂ සාකච්ඡාවක් සඳහා විෂය භාර අමාත්ය අනුර කරුණාතිලක මහතා සහ EHang සමාගමේ ප්රධාන මූල්ය නිලධාරී (CFO) කොනර් යැන්ග් (Conor Yang) මෙන්ම මෙහෙයුම් සාමාන්යාධිකාරී ෂියාඕ නා ලී (Xiao Na Lee) ඇතුළු දූත පිරිසක් සහභාගී වූහ.
මෙහිදී අදහස් දැක්වූ අමාත්යවරයා කියා සිටියේ මෙම යෝජිත මගී ඩ්රෝන සේවාව සංචාරක කර්මාන්තය, හදිසි අනතුරු හා ආපදා කළමනාකරණ මෙහෙයුම් මෙන්ම සමුද්රීය කටයුතු (Maritime requirements) සඳහාද බෙහෙවින් උපයෝගී කර ගත හැකි වනු ඇති බවයි.
කෙසේ වෙතත්, වාණිජ මට්ටමින් මගී ඩ්රෝන මෙහෙයුම් ආරම්භ කිරීම සඳහා ගුවන් ගමන් ආරක්ෂාව, නියාමන අවශ්යතා, ගුවන් ගමනාගමන කළමනාකරණය (Air traffic management), හදිසි අවස්ථා ක්රියා පටිපාටි, සයිබර් ආරක්ෂණ හා දත්ත ආරක්ෂණය මෙන්ම ඩ්රෝන යානා ගොඩබැස්වීම සඳහා වෙන් කළ විශේෂිත ස්ථාන (Designated landing sites) ආවරණය වන පරිදි නිල රාජ්ය අනුමැතිය ලබා ගැනීම අනිවාර්ය බව නිලධාරීන් මෙහිදී පෙන්වා දුන්හ.
Sri Lanka has initiated discussions on the potential introduction of a passenger drone service, with Chinese autonomous aerial vehicle company EHang showcasing its technology to government officials.
A special meeting was held at the Ministry of Ports and Civil Aviation, attended by Minister Anura Karunathilaka and an EHang delegation, including Chief Financial Officer Conor Yang and General Manager of Operations Xiao Na Lee.
The minister said the proposed service could be utilised for tourism, emergency and disaster response operations, as well as maritime-related requirements.
Officials highlighted that commercial passenger drone operations would require formal approvals covering aviation safety, regulatory requirements, air traffic management, emergency procedures, cybersecurity, data protection and designated landing sites.
