U13 Division 3 (2026) | Zahira College Matale Dominant Victory

Zahira College Matale produced an outstanding all-round team performance in their Under 13 Division 3 encounter, showcasing discipline, skill, and strong teamwork throughout the match. Batting first, Zahira College declared on 160/8 in 29.5 overs, with Umar leading the innings with a well-compiled 50 runs off 61 balls, anchoring the top order. He received valuable support from N.M.M. Aathif, who added a brisk 19 off 20 balls, helping Zahira post a commanding total.

With the ball, Zahira College were clinical and relentless. Kaushalya Ekanayake starred with the ball, picking up 3 wickets for 38 runs, while Deneth Katugampola supported well with 2 wickets for 33 runs, putting the opposition under immediate pressure.

In reply, Zonal Education Team II were bowled out for 10 all out in 12.3 overs, where Zahira’s bowlers dominated every phase. The follow-on saw a similar story as the opposition were dismissed for 36 all out in 20.1 overs, with M.A.M. Aathil producing a match-winning spell of 5 wickets for just 14 runs, well backed by M.S. Ammar, who claimed 2 wickets without conceding a run.

This emphatic victory reflected the strong preparation, discipline, and unity of the Zahira College Matale Under 13 team, guided expertly by Coach Rifai Nihuferdeen, an Old Zahirian of Matale, whose leadership continues to shape young talent at school level.
