Eid-ul-Adha Message

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu

Islam is a religion that guides humanity to live in worship of Allah, to live generously in service to His creation, to live in harmony with nature, and to stand firm and struggle against injustice.

Prophet Ibrahim (Alaihissalam) stood as a magnificent example of that Islamic dawah, sacrifice, faith, and humanitarian life. Eid-ul-Adha serves as a holy day to revive the memory of that great Prophet, who completely submitted to the command of Allah at every stage of his life and taught the world the pinnacle of sacrifice.

This festival is not merely a day of celebration; rather, it is a day to re-examine our lives and reflect: "Is our life meaningful and lived for the pleasure of Allah?"

Therefore, on this holy day of Eid-ul-Adha, let us all make a firm resolve to shape an Islamic life — one where we are steadfast in the worship of Allah, generous in the service of humanity, responsible in protecting nature and the environment, and standing on the side of justice against all forms of injustice.

May Allah Ta'ala accept our sacrifices and grant peace and prosperity to our community and our nation.

அல்லாஹ்வை வணங்கி வாழவும், அல்லாஹ்வின் படைப்புகளுக்கு வழங்கி வாழவும், இயற்கையோடு இணங்கி வாழவும், அநீதிகளுக்கு எதிராக உறுதியாகப் போராடி வாழவும் மனிதகுலத்திற்கு வழிகாட்டும் மார்க்கமே இஸ்லாம்.

அந்த இஸ்லாமிய அழைப்பு, தியாகம், இறைநம்பிக்கை மற்றும் மனிதநேய வாழ்வின் மகத்தான முன்னுதாரணமாகத் திகழ்ந்தவர் நபி இப்ராஹீம் (அலை) அவர்கள். தமது வாழ்வின் ஒவ்வொரு நிலையிலும் அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளைக்கு முழுமையாக அடிபணிந்து, தியாகத்தின் உச்சத்தை உலகுக்கு கற்றுத் தந்த அந்த மகத்தான நபியின் நினைவுகளை உயிர்ப்பிக்கும் புனித நாளாகவே ஹஜ்ஜுப் பெருநாள் அமைகிறது.

இப்பெருநாள், வெறும் கொண்டாட்டத்தின் நாளாக மட்டுமல்ல; மாறாக, எமது வாழ்வை மீளாய்வு செய்து, “எமது வாழ்க்கை அல்லாஹ்வின் திருப்திக்காக அர்த்தமுள்ளதாக அமைகிறதா?” என்று சிந்திக்க வேண்டிய நாளாகும்.

எனவே, இப்புனித ஹஜ்ஜுப் பெருநாள் தினத்தில் —இறை வணக்கத்தில் உறுதியாகவும்,மனிதர்களுக்கான சேவையில் தாராளமாகவும்,இயற்கை மற்றும் சூழலைப் பாதுகாப்பதில் பொறுப்புணர்வுடனும்,அநீதிகளுக்கு எதிராக நீதியின் பக்கம் நின்றும் வாழும் ஓர் இஸ்லாமிய வாழ்க்கையை அமைக்க நாம் அனைவரும் திடசங்கற்பம் பூணுவோம்.

அல்லாஹ் தஆலா எமது தியாகங்களை ஏற்று, எமது சமூகத்திற்கும் தேசத்துக்கும் அமைதி மற்றும் அபிவிருத்தியை ஏற்படுத்துவானாக.
உங்கள் அனைவருக்கும் இதயம் கனிந்த ஹஜ்ஜுப் பெருநாள் நல்வாழ்த்துக்களைத் தெரிவிப்பதில் மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறேன்.

ශ්‍රමයට ගෞරවය
මිනිසාට අභිමානය

ලෝක කම්කරු ඉතිහාසයේ උත්තරීතර දිනයක් වශයෙන් සැලකෙන මැයි දිනය ශ්‍රමයේ ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨත්වය හා කම්කරුවන්ගේ අයිතිවාසිකම් සිහිපත් කරන උතුම් දිනයකි. මර්ධනයට ලක්වූ හා කොන් කරන ලද මිනිසුන්ගේ අයිතිවාසිකම් ආරක්ෂා වීමත් ඔවුන්ගේ ජීවනෝපාය ඉහල නංවීමත් සමාජ සාධාරණත්වයේ මූලික අරමුණු වේ. වර්තමාන සමාජයේ ආර්ථික අභියෝග සහ සමාජ ආර්ථික දේශපාලන අසාධාරණකම් වැනි ගැටළු කම්කරු පන්තිය හා දාරිත්‍රතාවයෙන් පෙළෙන ජනතාව කෙරෙහි දැඩි බලපෑමක් ඇති කරයි. මෙවැනි වාතාවරණයකදී සමගියෙන් සහෝදරත්වයෙන් හා වගකීමෙන් යුතුව ක්‍රියාත්මක වෙමින් සියලු දෙනාටම සමාන අයිතිවාසිකම් හා නිසි ගෞරවය ලැබීමට සැලැස්වීම අපගේ වගකීම වේ.

මෙම මැයි දිනයේදී මර්ධනයට ලක් වූ හා කොන් කරන ලද ජනතාවගේ සුභසාධනය පෙරටු කර ගනිමින් සමාජ සාධාරණත්වය ආරක්ෂා කිරීමේ ක්‍රියාකාරකම්වල කැපවීමෙන් යුතුව නිරතවීමට අධිෂ්ඨානය කර ගනිමු. ශ්‍රමයට ගෞරවය කරන මානව ගෞරවය ඉහළ නංවන සාධාරණය සමානත්වය ස්ථාපිත කරන සමාජයක් බිහිකිරීමට සියලු දෙනාම අත්වැල් බැඳගනිමු .

உழைப்பை மதிப்போம்
மனிதத்தை நிலைநாட்டுவோம்.

உலக தொழிலாளர் வரலாற்றில் பெருமைக்குரிய நாளாக விளங்கும் மே தினம் உழைப்பின் மதிப்பையும் தொழிலாளர்களின் உரிமைகளையும் நினைவூட்டும் நாளாகும். ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட மற்றும் விளிம்பு நிலை மக்களின் உரிமைகள் பாதுகாக்கப்படுவதும் அவர்களின் வாழ்வாதாரம் மேம்படுவதும் சமூக நீதியின் அடிப்படை குரலாகும். இன்றைய சமூகத்தில் பொருளாதார சவால்கள் மற்றும் சமூக, பொருளாதார, அரசியல், அநீதி போன்ற பிரச்சினைகள் தொழிலாளர்கள் மற்றும் வறுமைக் கோட்டில் வாழும் மக்களை பாதித்து வருகின்றன. இந்நிலையில் ஒற்றுமை சகோதரத்துவம் மற்றும் பொறுப்புணர்வு என்பவற்றுடன் செயல்பட்டு அனைவருக்கும் சம உரிமையும் உரிய மரியாதையும் கிடைக்க வழிவகுப்பது நமது பொதுக் கடமையாகும்.

இந்த மே தினத்தில் ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட மற்றும் விளிம்பு நிலை மக்களின் நலன்களை முன்னிறுத்தி சமூக நீதியை பாதுகாக்கும் பணிகளில் அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் செயல்பட உறுதி கொள்வோம். உழைப்பை மதிக்கும் மனித கண்ணியத்தை உயர்த்தும் நீதியையும் சமத்துவத்தையும் நிலைநாட்டும் ஒரு சமூகத்தை உருவாக்க அனைவரும் ஒன்றிணைவோம்.

கொழும்பு முஸ்லிம் சமூகம் எதிர்நோக்கும் சவால்கள்

கொழும்பு – "கொழும்பு மாநகர முஸ்லிம் சமூகத்திற்கான சவால்களை எதிர்கொள்ளல்" என்ற தலைப்பிலான முக்கிய சமூகக் கலந்துரையாடல் ஒன்றை இலங்கை ஜமாஅத்தே இஸ்லாமி (SLJI), கடந்த 2026 ஏப்ரல் 26 ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமையன்று கொழும்பிலுள்ள அதன் தலைமையகமான தாருல் ஈமான் கேட்போர் கூடத்தில் நடத்தியது. இந்த நிகழ்வில் கல்வியாளர்கள், சுகாதாரத் துறை வல்லுநர்கள் மற்றும் சமூகத் தலைவர்கள் ஒன்றிணைந்து கொழும்பு வாழ் முஸ்லிம்களின் சமூக-பொருளாதார முன்னேற்றம் குறித்து விரிவாகக் கலந்துரையாடினர்.

கிறாஅத் பாராயணத்துடன் நிகழ்ச்சி ஆரம்பமானது. அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து ஜமாஅத்தின் தலைவர் அஷ் ஷெய்க் M.H.M. உஸைர் இஸ்லாஹி வரவேற்புரை நிகழ்த்தினார். பின்னர் அஷ்-ஷெய்க் அஹ்மத் யாசிர் நிகழ்ச்சியைப் பற்றிய சுருக்கமான அறிமுகத்தை வழங்கினார்.

முதல் அமர்வு "கொழும்பு முஸ்லிம்களின் சமூக-பொருளாதார நிலை" என்ற தலைப்பில் அமைந்தது. இதனை இலங்கை திறந்த பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் வருகை விரிவுரையாளர் கலாநிதி M.R.M. அஸ்லம் இஸ்லாஹி வழங்கினார்.

இரண்டாவது அமர்வில் கல்விக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் அளிக்கப்பட்டது. கொழும்பு பாத்திமா முஸ்லிம் மகளிர் கல்லூரியின் அதிபரும், கல்வித் திணைக்களத்தின் கொழும்பு வலய பிரதிப் பணிப்பாளருமான திருமதி மும்தாஸா பேகம் இதனை வழிநடத்தினார். அவர் பாடசாலை கல்வி முறை மற்றும் சமூகம் எதிர்கொள்ளும் குறிப்பிட்ட சவால்கள் குறித்த முக்கியமான கருத்துக்களைப் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டார்.

தேநீர் இடைவேளையைத் தொடர்ந்து, கவனம் சுகாதாரத்தின் பக்கம் திரும்பியது. விசேட வைத்திய நிபுணர் M.N.M. யூசுப், சமூகத்தின் தற்போதைய சுகாதார நிலை குறித்து விளக்கினார். குறிப்பாக தொற்றா நோய்கள் மற்றும் நீரிழிவு நோய் குறித்து அவர் விரிவாகப் பேசினார்.

இறுதிப் பகுதியில் மௌலவி ஷுக்ருதீன் இஹ்ஸான் (ACJU), திரு. அஹமட் கடாபி (CDMF), திரு. ஆதில் ஹாஷிம் (SSDF), மௌலவி தாஸிம் கபூரி (AMYS), கலாநிதி ஸியாத் தாஹா (Insight Centre for Education Development), Dr. நஸீஹா அமீன், ஹனீஸ் இஸ்ஸதீன் (SFRD) மற்றும் பஸ்லான் (Muslim Aid) ஆகியோர் கொழும்பில் தத்தமது அமைப்புகள் முன்னெடுக்கும் செயல்பாடுகள் குறித்து விளக்கமளித்தனர்.

ஜமாஅத்தின் மக்கள் தொடர்புக்கான குழுவின் தலைவர் சட்டத்தரணி பாரிஸ் ஸாலி நன்றியுரை மற்றும் நிறைவுரையை வழங்கினார்.

Community Discussion Outlines Strategic Path for Colombo’s Muslim Community

COLOMBO – The Sri Lanka Jama’athe Islami (SLJI) hosted a significant community discussion titled "Navigating Challenges for the Muslim Community in Greater Colombo" on Sunday, April 26th, 2026, at the Darul Iman Auditorium at its headquarters in Colombo. The event brought together educationalists, health professionals, and community leaders to deliberate on the socio-economic progress of the region.

The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qura’n, followed by a warm welcome address by Ash-Sheikh M.H.M. Uzair Islahi, President of Sri Lanka Jama’athe Islami. Ash-Sheikh Ahmed Yasir then provided a brief introduction to the program

The first session focused on the "Socio-Economic Status of Muslims in Colombo," presented by Dr. Aslam Islahi, Visiting Lecturer at OUSL.

Education took center stage in the second session, led by Ms. Mumthaza Begum, Principal of Fathima Muslim Ladies College and Deputy Director of Education (Colombo Zone). She provided critical insights into the school education system and the specific challenges faced by the community.

Following a tea break, the focus shifted to healthcare. Dr. M.N.M. Yousuf, Consultant Physician, detailed the current health status of the community, mainly focussing on NCD in general and diabetics in particular.

The final segments included a review of the contributions of various community organizations and an open discussion where
the audience shared their perspectives. Moulavi Shukrudeen Ihsan(All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulema-ACJU), Mr. Ahamed Gadafee(Colombo District Masjid Federation-CDMF), Mr. Adel Hashim (Serendib School Development Foundation - SSDF), Moulavi Thasim Gafoori (AMYS), Dr. Ziyad Thaha( Insight Centre for Education Development), Dr. Naseeha Ameen and Mr. Fazlan( Muslim Aid Sri Lanka) and Mr. Haneez Issadeen (Sri Lanka Jama'athe Islami) briefed the audience on the activities of their respective organizations in Colombo.

The concluding remarks and a Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. Faris Saly, Head of the Strategic Committee for Public Relations of SLJI..

கிண்ணியா கிளையின் பொறுப்பாளர் சகோதரர் ஐ.எம். நிஜாம் ஆசிரியரின் தலைமையில் நடைபெற்ற இந்நிகழ்வை, ஜமாஅத்தே இஸ்லாமியின் திருகோணமலை பிராந்திய அமைப்பாளர் அஷ்ஷெய்க் பர்ஸூக் இஸ்லாஹி தொகுத்து வழங்கினார்.

ஜமாஅத் கிண்ணியாவில் கடந்த 25 ஆண்டுகளாக சமூக மற்றும் சமய மேம்பாட்டிற்காக மேற்கொண்ட பணிகள் தொடர்பான விமர்சனப்பர்வையும் தொடர்ந்தேர்ச்சியாக முன்னெடுக்கப்பட வேண்டிய பணிகள் குறித்த கலந்துரையாடலும் இடம்பெற்றது.

தப்லீக் ஜமாஅத்தின் கிண்ணியா அமீர் சகோதரர் இப்னு ஷுஹூத், ஸலாமா அமைப்பின் பொறுப்பாளர் நிஹாஸ் ஸேர், ஜம்இய்யத்துல் உலமாவின் உதவித் தலைவர் மௌலவி ஆரிப், சமூகப் பிரமுகர்களான சகோதரர் சைபுல்லாஹ், சகோதரர் இக்ரிமா மற்றும் திடீர் மரண விசாரணை அதிகாரி மௌலவி ஷாபி ஆகியோர் இச்சந்திப்பில் கலந்து கொண்டு தங்களது ஆக்கபூர்வமான கருத்துகள் மற்றும் விமர்சனங்களை முன்வைத்தனர்.

எதிர்காலத்திலும் இத்தகைய சந்திப்புகள் தொடர்ச்சியாக நடைபெற வேண்டுமெனவும், ஜமாஅத்தே இஸ்லாமி தனிப்பட்ட முறையிலும் மட்டுமின்றி, ஏனைய அமைப்புகளுடன் இணைந்து பல்வேறு வேலைத்திட்டங்களை முன்னெடுக்க முடியும் எனவும் பிரமுகர்கள் கருத்துத் தெரிவித்ததோடு தங்களால் முடியுமான பங்களிப்புகளையும் வழங்குவதாக தெரிவித்தனர்.

இந்நிகழ்வின் இறுதியில், இலங்கை ஜமாஅத்தே இஸ்லாமியின் தலைவர் அஷ்ஷெய்க் எம்.எச்.எம். உஸைர் இஸ்லாஹி அவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்ட பிரமுகர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி தெரிவித்ததோடு தாங்கள் முன்வைத்த ஆக்கபூர்வமான கருத்துக்கள் மற்றும் விமர்சனங்களை கருத்திற் கொள்வதாக தெரிவித்ததோடு நிகழ்வை நிறவு செய்துவைத்தார்.

இந்நிகழ்வில், ஜமாஅத்தின் ஆண் மற்றும் பெண் ஊழியர்கள் பெருமளவில் பங்கேற்றனர்.

Mr. M.M.M. Ahiyar, the President of the Ramya Lanka organization, participated in the discussion organized for civil organizations at the invitation of the Honorable Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. He represented both Sri Lanka Jama’athe Islami and the Ramya Lanka organization.

Towards a World Filled with Justice and Humanity

In today's world, where injustice and anarchy reign in many forms, all people eagerly look forward to a safe life filled with justice and peace. Islam is a faith that guides humanity toward the noble goal of creating an environment where humans respect one another and live with relationships rooted in love and compassion.

Fasting, one of the fundamental pillars of Islam, is not merely a ritual of enduring hunger and thirst. It is a spiritual training that guides a person toward inner transformation and noble human qualities.

Fasting makes one feel the pain of others; it impresses upon the mind the condition of people facing poverty, suffering, and injustice in society. At the same time, it serves as a sublime school of training that nurtures mercy, love, humanity, human brotherhood, and equality.

After a month of spiritual training, having practiced qualities such as self-restraint, patience, love, and compassion, Muslims are celebrating Eid-ul-Fithr today. We must transform this happy day not just into a day of celebration, but into a day of new resolve—expressing our connection with the Creator and our commitment to humanity through our way of life.

Engaging in the worship of God, involving oneself in efforts to alleviate human suffering, raising a voice against injustice, and creating an environment of peace and harmony by rejecting violence and hatred—these are all the high responsibilities that fasting has taught us.

Realizing these responsibilities, let us establish the spirit of fasting in our lives and society. Let us work together to create a world filled with justice and peace, where all human beings can live with safety, dignity, and happiness.

May Allah accept our fasting and good deeds, and may He create an environment where all of humanity can live in peace.
