Zahira College Batch of 2016, is an affiliation under the main body of the Old Boys’ Association of Zahira College Colombo. Batch of 2016 was formed in the year 2017 January 12th by the proud pass outs of class of 2016. The main objective of this batch is to unit the batch together in order to ensure that the efforts and support are directed towards the development and welfare of our Alma Mater, O
ld Boys’ Association and our Colleagues. The batch of 2016 was officially affiliated on 22nd August 2018, in the OBA dinner of the same year. But we are celebrating our Anniversary on 12th January since the Batch is founded on that day, From the initial point, our batch has been organising projects that are beneficial for the school and the society as whole

The very first Batch Party that was held on the 13th of January 2018 at Hotel Sapphire Wellawatte, more than 150 batch mates participated in this event.

02. First Annual General Meeting (AGM) and official Batch Jersey Launch 2018 - (11th April 2018)
The 1st Annual General Meeting and Official Jersey Launch was held on 11th of April 2018 at RC Union Skill Center.. nearly 80 batch mates were participated to the event. Inshaf & the Jersey Designer Mr. Nafeel Najim was given the honours to launch the Batch Jersey. Also the 1st ever Executive Committee for the year 2018/19 was appointed on a vote basis. 03. Annual Ifthar 2018 - (03rd June 2018)
Annual Ifthar was held on 3rd of June 2018 at Zahira College Swimming Pool Complex Auditorium.. Special Dua was carried out on behalf of the Batch Mates who passed on during the past couple of years.

04. Participated in the Zahira OBA Fellowship Day Sports Championship 2018 - (01st July 2018)
The Batch of 2016 were able to pull off the 4th place in the first year of participation among the 44 batches and associations of the Zahira OBA. We were the Champions in Rugby and Swimming, was the Runner up in Football and was able to gain 04th place in Table tennis .

05. G16 Cricket Fiesta 2018 - (02nd September 2018)
The Inaugural B16 Cricket Fiesta event was held on 2nd September 2018 at Cyril Mathew Ground Kelaniya.. this was 10 a side softball cricket tournament, with a. Total number of 10 teams. Event Launch and Official Draw was held on 20th of August 2018 at Zahira College Swimming Pool Complex Board Room. The Team B16 Strikers were able to clinch the Championship Title while B16 Zappers emerged to be the Runners Up and B16 Hurricanes was announced as the 3rd
Runner Up team B16 Zappers Captain Mr. Abdullah Fawmy was able to secure The Fair Play Award, Best Batsman and Bowler and the Man of the Tournament for his classic all round performance through out the tournament, Man of Final was awarded to Mr. Mohamed Najath from Champions Team. The Chief Guest of the event was Treasurer of Zahira College OBA Mr. Haaziq Jaleel while the Guest of Honors were the Directors of TAAT Sports, (Sponsors of Jerseys)Mr. Suren Kumaran, Mr. Aravinth and Mr. Niranjan.

06. Participated in Zahira OBA Dinner 2018 - (26th August 2018)
Five of B16 representatives attended the Zahira OBA’s dinner which was held on 26th of August 2018 at The Hilton Colombo, we also received our Affiliation Certificate from the Zahira OBA’s representatives.

07. Participated in the G90 Sports Festival 2018 - (16th September 2018)
Four Ruggerites of B16 took part in the G90 Rugby League and Team Wajid Fawmy was in won the runners up title while the team Ramzan Amith played won the Championship. Also the Best Player of the Tournament was awarded to Mr. Wajid Fawmy of B16

08. Participated in the G7 Futsal Encounter 2018 - (07th October 2018)
The event was held on 7th October 2018 at Colombo Futsal World. We were able to secure the 03rd Place overall.

09. G02 Futsal Fiesta 2019 - (24th February 2019)
The B16 clinched the CHAMPIONSHIP Title in the G02’s Futsal Fiesta 2019.. we were unbeaten throughout out the Tournament. The Best Goal Keeper was awarded to Mohamed Muneer from B16 whilst Golden Boot was awarded to Farood Faiz from B16, fantastic all round performance was shown throughout the Tournament by the Batch of 2016. Event was held at Uni Sports, Kirulapone.

10. Batch Party 2019 - Zealous 02 (2.0) - (09th March 2019)
This was considered as the most highlighted event of B16. Zealous 2.0 which held on the year of 09th of March 2019 at Hotel Glen. We as the batch of 2016 had a teacher’s felicitation. We were able to felicitate 6 teacher, namely Mr.MTA. Rauf, Mr Faizal, Mr Mohideen, Ms. Sepali, Ms. Azra & Ms. Azmina. The Chief Guest of the event was the former ITN director Mr. Hassim Omar and the special guest were Mr. Fouzul Hameed, Mr. Alavi mukthar, Mr. Naina Mohammed, Mr. Nuzri Munsoor, Mr. Haziq Jaleel, Mr. Mohamed Shameek. Also we have felicitated Mr. Wajid Fawmy with the first ever B16 Execellency Award for his superior achievements in the field of Rugby.

13. Participated in the Zahira OBA Fellowship Day Sports Championship 2019 - (08th to 15th September 2019)
The Batch of 2016 were able to achieve, 3rd place overall during the second year of participation. among 44 batches and associations of the Zahira OBA. We won the Championship in Football and Swimming and was able to secure 3rd place in Triathlon.

14. B16 Lead the Sticks Hockey Carnival 2019 - (13th October 2019)
B16 had organised the Lead the Sticks Hockey Carnival for College Under 12 to Under 20 Age Categories with the motive of betterment of Zahira Hockey. More than 200 students participated as a result identifying talented players for the college hockey team. We felicitated a few under 20 players as well.

15. Green Maroon Championship 2019 - (12th November 2019)
B16 along with three junior batches organized the Green Maroons Championship for the Executive Committee members for all four batches. The Tournament was conducted as a Inter House championship. Bagdhadh House was able to win the overall Championship, lead by B16 Member Shahadh Yuwas.

The entire Executive Committee was invited for the event and President Recognition Award was presented to B16 member Mr. Wajid Fawmy for his superior achievement in the field of Rugby.

19. B16’s Most Popular Sports Star of the year 2020 online contest - (27th March to 12th April 2020)
24 Sports Stars of B16 participated in this online voting contest and Mr. Aashiq Omar was able to win the Grand Final.

20. “එක්ව ජයගමු” Ekwa Jayagamu - (9th April 2020)
“එක්ව ජයගමු” Ekwa Jayagamu is a project which was organized by Batch of 2016, inviting 22 schools to act together in a social awareness video for Covid 19.

23. Battle of Brotherhood 2020 - (29th of December 2020)
The Battle of Brotherhood is an Annual T20 Cricket Encounter with the Batch of 2019. The 1st edition of the encounter took place on 29th of December 2020 and B16 were able to secure the Championship by beating Batch of 2019.

25. Batch Party 2021 - Zealous 03 - Ikaika Loa
(13th March 2021)
The 3rd Batch party was successfully held at Wonder Hotel Colombo, with a participation of more than 120 members, This theme this year was Hawaiian. The Members dress code and the decoration was carried out accordingly
This years B16’s Excellency Awards was won by Mr. Ammar Ali for for the year 2020 for his educational achievements and Mr. Ramzan Amith won the award for the years of 2021 for his Achievement in the field of Rugby, also a Special Token of Appreciation was given to Mr. Nafeel Najim for all his efforts in the Designing and handling the Digital Marketing Social Media pages of the batch of 2016
