𝐒𝐋𝐈𝐈𝐓 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐋𝐈𝐈𝐓 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐯𝐞 (𝐑𝐃𝐀).

The event was graced by the Chancellor, Prof. Lakshman Ratnayake; Senior Deputy Vice - Chancellor & Provost, Prof. Nimal Rajapakse; Chief Operating Officer, Mr Chaminda Bandara; and Deans, Associate Deans, and Heads of Departments, with the official launch carried out by the Chancellor and the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor of SLIIT.

The SLIIT RDA marks a significant milestone in strengthening the institution’s research ecosystem. It serves as a central platform to enhance the visibility, accessibility, and global reach of SLIIT research outputs, while actively supporting open access initiatives.

The upgraded repository introduces several key features, including metadata harvesting for global discoverability, author profiles that connect research contributions, structured journal management, and a streamlined article submission and review process.

SLIIT Library also extends its sincere appreciation to Mr Gayan Weilgama, Senior System Engineer, for his unwavering support, timely guidance, and valuable contributions, which played a pivotal role in the successful development and launch of this platform.
We acknowledge the commitment of Ms. Nilmini Dahanayaka, Assistant Manager, for her dedicated efforts in managing data in .

𝐒𝐋𝐈𝐈𝐓 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝒑 𝒐𝒏 "𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝑱𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚 & 𝑭𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑶𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔"

The workshop was targeted at both researchers and supervisors and was conducted in hybrid mode to facilitate maximum participation. The session was also open to external participants.

The resource persons were Prof. Tharusha N. Gooneratne and Senior Prof. Arosha S. Adikaram from the University of Colombo, co-authors of 200 𝑫𝒐𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑫𝒐𝒏’𝒕𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 and 𝑴𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝑬𝒙𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘.

The SLIIT Library Learning Commons ceremonially unveiled its newly designed floor on 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. The inauguration was graced by 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐧𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐲 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫 & 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐍𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐚𝐣𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐞, along with other Pro Vice Chancellors, Deans, and Directors.

With this newest addition, the SLIIT Library Learning Commons now spans 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐬 and can accommodate nearly 𝟏,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞. The new floor alone provides seating for more than 400 students and features discussion rooms, individual study spaces, a dedicated area for special needs students, with an online space reservation facility, offering more space, more resources, and more opportunities for learning and reading.

The SLIIT Library Learning Commons is now complete and ready to serve you better than ever with enhanced physical facilities and extensive digital resources to support your learning and research.
