🦠 From the Lab to Bedside – Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance in Oncology

The Sri Lanka College of Oncologists (SLCO), in collaboration with the The Sri Lanka College of Microbiologists , successfully conducted the CME programme “From the Lab to Bedside”, bringing together experts in oncology and microbiology to address the growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance in cancer care.

The programme highlighted the critical importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in the prevention, early recognition, and management of infections in immunocompromised patients, while promoting evidence-based antimicrobial stewardship in oncology practice.

A special focus was on maximizing available resources to enhance outcomes in an a standerdized manner across the country.

SLCO extends its sincere appreciation to all speakers, participants, and organisers whose contributions made this educational initiative a success. Together, we continue to strengthen the quality and safety of cancer care in Sri Lanka.
