📚MEET OUR LITERATURE GRADE HEADS 📚
Great Literature education requires more than knowledge of texts — it requires strong academic leadership, critical thinking, creativity and a deep understanding of language and literature.
At IESM, our Literature Grade Heads play an important role in maintaining the academic standards of our Literature programme. With extensive experience in education, they provide leadership to their respective grades while guiding and supporting the teachers and students under their supervision.
As Literature Grade Heads, their responsibilities extend beyond their own classrooms. They help guide Literature teachers, monitor students’ academic progress, maintain teaching standards, coordinate assessments and examinations, and ensure that students develop the analytical and writing skills required at each level.
Their leadership contributes to:

✨ Guiding and supporting Literature teachers
✨ Monitoring students’ academic performance and development
✨ Strengthening critical thinking, analysis and interpretation skills
✨ Developing structured and effective Literature writing skills
✨ Coordinating examinations, assessments and academic activities
✨ Supporting students as they prepare for the G.C.E. O/L and A/L examinations
✨ Encouraging creativity, confidence and independent thinking

🎭 Bringing Literature Beyond the Textbook
Literature is not meant to remain only on the page. Through drama, performances, discussions, presentations and concert activities, students have opportunities to experience characters, stories and ideas in creative ways.
Under the guidance of our Literature Grade Heads, students are encouraged not only to prepare for examinations but also to develop critical thinking, communication, creativity, confidence, empathy and the ability to express their own ideas.
