Sudagala Sri Rahula Maha Vidyalaya

Sudagala Sri Rahula Maha Vidyalaya Welcome to the page of Sudagala Sri Rahula Maha Vidyalaya, Kuruwita, Rathnapura. According to the historical records of the school, Mr B.M.

Fernando, a resident of the area, had put up a building with the heelp of the other villagers in his land of about one acre of space. This building was handed over to an association called " ( Seemasahitha) Tharina Abhiwardhana sadhaka Sangamaya(Ltd)" on the 07.11.1944 and named it as "R/ Sudagala Buddhist Mixed School". This was the initiation of this school. At that time the headmaster, Mr. Punchisigngno, administered the school with fifty four students and two teachers. Later this school was taken over by the government on the 09.04.1964. Then the government shifted this school to a place with a beautiful mountainous landscape in the vicinity of "Sirpada mountain and named R/ Sudagala Sri Rahula Vidyalaya". This school is situated five kilometers away from Kuruwita town on the Kuruwita - Erathna Road, in Rathnapura in sabaragamuwa province.
