මගෙ ජීවිතේ කල්ලා සර් මට අකුරක්වත් උගන්නලා නෑ ඒත් මම වැඩියෙන්ම ආදරේ කරපු සර් කෙනෙක්.ඒ වගේම සර්රුයි අපෙයි රසකතා ගොඩයි දැන් ලියන්නෙ පලවෙනි එක.

මේක උනේ senior prefect interview එකේ.පලවෙනි දවසෙ කල්ලා සර් නිවාඩු. Interview බෝඩ් එකෙ ලොක්කා කෝනාර සර් එදා උදේ අලුතෙන් ආව ලමයෙක් ගෙනාව කෑම එකක් ගුරු මේසෙ තියන් කාලා වටේ හිටපු එවුන් දඩස් ගාලා හොල්මනක් දැක්කා වගෙ පුටුවල ඉඳ ගත්තා මම හිටියෙ ගුරු පුටුව ගාව නිසා මට ඉඳගන්න බැරි උනා පස්ස හැරිලා බලද්දි කෝනාර සර්. මගෙ කන එහෙම අතගාලා ඉතිරි බත් ටිකත් එක්ක කැන්ටිමට ඇරියා කාලා වර කියලා.

මාර upset එක එදාම 12 ඉඳන් 1.30 වෙනකන් interview ලොක්කත් කෝනාර සර් අපේ කල්ලා සරුත් එදා නිවාඩු. කොල්ලගෙ වෙලාවට ඊලඟට ඉද්දිම 1.30ට බෙල් කරා interview ඉවරයි. දෙවෙනි දවසෙ ලොක්කා අපේ කල්ලා සර් මගෙ file එක බලන ගමන් හිනාවත් නොවී full සිරාපිට මගෙන් අහපු ප්‍රශ්න ටික.

කල්ලා සර්: ඇල්ලෙපොල තමුසෙ කොහෙ ඉඳලද එන්නෙ.

මම: සර් වැව රවුමේ ඉඳලා

කල්ලා සර්: එහෙනම් තමුසෙ කලින් එනවා ඇති නේද?

මම: ඔව් සර්

කල්ලා සර්: තමුසෙ කලින් යනවත් ඇති නේද?

මම: ඔව් සර් නෑ නෑ සර්

මුලු interview බෝඩ් එකම ස්වර්නා මැඩම් කෝනාර සර් ඔක්කොම හිනා වෙනවා ඒත් කල්ලා සර් full සිරා. මම හිතුවා මම ඉවරයි කියලා. ඒත් කල්ලා සර් මාව ගොඩ දාලා. ආදරෙයි කල්ලා සර් හැමදාම. ඔබට නිවන් සුව.

පාන් කාපු බල්ලා...

සර් ගෙ පන්තියකට සහභාගි වෙන්න මටත් වාසනාව තිබුන. ඒ පන්තිය තිබුනෙ ටවුන් එක මැද ම තිබුන ගෙදරක. ඔය ගෙදර හිටිය ලොකු දඩෝරි බල්ලෙකුත්. සර් ඒ බල්ලට එචර කැමති නෑ. ඔන්න දවසක් සර් පන්තියට ආවෙ රෝස් පාන් වගයකුත් අරගන. පාන් ටික එහෙමම බයිසිකලේ (දන්නවනෙ සර් ගෙ එක Super Cub එක :) ) එල්ලල ඔන්න අපට පන්තිය කරන්න ආව සර්. අපිත් ඉතින් පන්තිය ඉවර වෙලා යන ගමන් පොඩි විහිළුවක් කරන්න ඕනෙ කියල හිතල, සර් ට කලින් අපි බයිසිකලේ ගාවට ඇවිත් පාන් මල්ල හැන්ගුව.

ඔන්න සර් ඔතනට ආව, අපිත් ඉතින් මොකුත් දන්නෙ නෑ වගේ සර් එක්ක කතා කරා සුපුරුදු විදියට. නමුත් සර් ටිකක් නොසන්සුන් ව මොකක්ද හොයනව වගේ අපි දැකල, ඇහුව මොනවද සර් හොයන්නෙ කියල. එතකොට සර් කීව, මම පාන් වගයක් අරගන ආව බයිසිකලේ මයි තියල තිබුනෙ දැන් ඒක නෑ නෙ කියල. අපිත් ඉතින් මොකුත් දන්නෑ වගේ කීව, "ආ! සර් අර බල්ල වත් කෑවද දන්නෙ නෑ අපි දැක්ක බල්ල ලෙහල ඉන්නව" කියල...

සර් ගෙ අර ඇස් පොඩි කරල බලන බැල්මෙන් අපි දිහා බලල ඇඟට පතට නොදැනීම කීව,
"කකුල් හතරෙ බල්ල කෙසේ වෙතත්, කකුල් දෙකේ බල්ලෙක් නම් පාන් ගෙඩි දෙකට වැඩක් දීල වගේ..." කියල
විහිළු කරන්න ගිහින් විහිළුවට ලක් වුන අපේ උන් අතරින් පාන් මල්ල එලියට ආවේ පවනට බඳු වේගයෙන්...

අපට උගන්වපු ගුරු භවතුන් අතරින් අපි කාගේත් මතකයේ ඉහලින්ම ඉන්න කෙනෙක් චන්ද්‍රසේන සර්. කොල්ලෝ සර්ව කල්ලා නමින් හැදින් වුවත් එහි ගැබ්ව ඇත්තේ කලු චරිතයක හැගීමක් නම් නොව අපරිමිත වූ ලෙන්ගතුකමක්, භක්තියක් හා මිත්‍රශීලි කමක් බව මාගේ විශ්වාසයයි.

මා එදවස 1983 හා 1984 වසර වල 12 බී ජීවවිද්‍යා පංතියේ ඉගෙන ගන්නා සමයේ චන්ද්‍රසේන සර් පන්තිභාර ගුරුවරයා විය. මා සාසැලට ඒමට බස් නැවතුමේ සිටින විට සර් අලව්වේ සිට එන බසයක ජනේල අයිනේ වඩිවී එන අයුරැ මට මතකය. බසය නැවැත්වූ විට මා දුටුව හොත් නැගපං නැගපං කියා සිනහ සෙමින් සංඥා කරීම සර්ගේ සිරිතක් විය. නමුත් මම බසයේ දොරටුව ආසන්නට ගියත් එම බසයට ගොඩ නොවන්නේ ඊට පසු පැමිණෙන බස් රථයක යාමට මට අවශ්‍යථාවයක් තිබූ නිසාය.

කෙසේ හෝ දිනක් මා ප්‍රමාදවී පන්තියට ගියේ සර් උගන්වමින් සිටින විටකදීය. මා දුටු සැනින් සිනහව සගවාගත් මුහුණෙන් යුතව මා අමතා.. "නැවියන් ".. කියා රිදෙන්නට නොව මහා ශබ්දයක් නිකුත්වන ලෙස පිටමැද්දට මට අතින් පාරක් ගසා සුපුරුදු මිත්‍රශීලී වදනින් "පලයං වාඩිවෙයං" කිවේ උදෑසන පංතියේ කාටත් හිනාවෙන්නට අවස්ථාවක් සලසමින්ය. කෙසේ හෝ අවාසනාවට ඊලග දිනයේත් මා ප්‍රමාද වූ අතර එදිනද "නැවියන් " සහ පහර එලෙසම සිදුවිය. මා පිට පිට තෙවන දිනයේත් ප්‍රමාද විය. එදින සර් මට නැවියන් කියන්නට ප්‍රථම මා කොන්ද නමා ගෙනම සර් ගාවට ලං උනේ සර්ගෙන් සුදුරුදු ලෙන්ගතු පහර බලාපොරොත්තුවෙන්ය. එදින සර් මා අමතා " නගිටපං" කී සැනින් මා සිතුවා අද නම් මගේ කම්මුලට තමා කියාය. නමුත් මා දෙස බලා සුන්දර සිනහවකින් සංග්‍රහ කර "ගිහින් ඉදගනිං" කීය.

ඒ මා දුටු වෙනස් අපේ කල්ලා සර්ය. එතුමා ගැන මා තුල වූ මහත් භක්තිය හා ආදරය තවත් වරධනය වූවාට සැකයක් නැත. ඒ නිසාම වෙන්න ඇති ඉන්පසු මා නියම වෙලාවට පාසැලට පැමිණියේ..

OLD STORIES-4:

"This happened back in 2004 if any of u can remember the sports-meet that year it ended up with a big rally of students throwing fire crackers and fire works at the teachers and as im was Rajasingha student i kw the ppl who was involved in this coz it was started by students in our house.(hope this want leave FB lol)

apparently some one has told our good old VP Rathnayaka sir that i was the one who started it and he came looking foe me to the science building. and i was in the middle class on the ground floor.
it was a free period and i was just comming out of the class to go to the canteen and saw rathnayaka sir was talking with kalla sir so i stormed back in to the class.

after like 5 min kalla sir came to the class door and pointed me to come out of the class. he asked me
" aththa kiyapan uba damma neda rachinna sports meet eke" and i sad " ne sir mama rachinna danna danne ne"
he laughed and said(as rathnayaka sir was also one of his students he referred to him as rathnayaka)

" rathnayaka awa ubawa hoyagena, uba eda rachinna damma kiyala arachi wela ubawa hoyanna, mama uta kiwwa uba ehema wada karana ekek newei uwa owata gawaganna epa kiyala, mama dannawa thamuseth kohen hari okata sambandai kiyala. eda thamusela ehema kare ai kiyala mama danna nisa samawa denawa, aye ehema ahuwenne ne"

i just said thank you sir and ran back lolzzzzz. i have great respect for him both as a teacher and a man he has teach both me and my dad, so im very proud to say i knew KALLA......

OLD STORIES - 3

Only kalla sir himself told this story to us, which had happened few days ago.
Parent of a student who wanted to get his daughter to sir's private class had come to school & asked for him.
So he was promptly informed, as he was in a free period.
When he came up to the parent, sir had seen that vice principle - Samaranayaka sir & some other people in the office were laughing.
The parent of the student had come up to him & asked are you Chandrasena Kaluarachchi.
Then only he had understood that some student of his has given a 'lanuwa' to the girl who's parent had come about sir's name & sir was humble enough to say "yes I am Chandrasena, but 'kalu' is alright not 'arachchi'". "klauth nam hari, arachchi nam nemei hebei."

අපි හැම දෙනාම දන්න කල්ලා සර් වෙනුවෙන් මොකක් හරි දෙයක් අපිට කරන්න පුලුවන්ද කියන එක දැන් කාලෙක ඉඳන් හිතපු දෙයක්.

මමත්, අපේ යාලුව යුශානුත් (PORTY) හිතන දෙයක් තමා සර් නමින් ශිෂ්‍යත්වයක් අපේ මලියදෙව එකේ ඇති කරන්න පුලුවන් නම් එක හොඳ දෙයක් වෙයි කියන එක. (මලියදෙව එකේ සර්ගෙන් ඉගනගත්ත අය විදියට මම හිතන්නේ ඒක අපෙ වගකීමක්.

මේක ලේසිදෙයක් නොවන බවත් අපි දන්නව. මොකද අපි අන්තර්ජාලයෙන් හමුවුනාට අපි එක එක්කෙනා ඉන්නෙ එක එක තැන්වල. මේවගෙ වැඩකදී ලියන කියන වැඩ, ඉස්කෝලය එක්ක සම්බන්ඳතාව හදාගන්න එක, මුදල් හොයන එක, අදාල පුද්ගලයන් එක්ක සම්බන්ද වෙන වැඩ වගේ ගොඩක් දේවල් කරන්න වෙනවා. ඉතින් ඒදේවල් කරන්න ඔයගොල්ලන් ඔක්කොගෙම උදව් තිබ්බොත් බැරි වෙන එකක් නෑ.

මේ ගැන අදහස්-උදහස් දෙන්න පුලුවන් නම් ලොකු දෙයක්. මේක ගැන අනිත් අය දනුවත් කරන්න පුලුවන් නම් මේක Fb එකේ share කරන්න.

Hello all!
I guess all of you will agree that if we can do something in memory of Kalla sir it'll be good. Especially knowing him I feel if this is just being a Fb fan page he himself may not have approved.

So Ushan (Porty) and I've been thinking maybe its good to have some sort of a scholarship in memory of him in Maliyadeva College. [I know Kalla sir was a teacher to students ofmany other schools and they are here too. But for the work he has done for MCK i think its our responsibility to do something like this]
So what do you all think?

We also know that it wont be easy thing (esp as us being an online community) with all the paper work, contacting with college, raising funds, choosing people etc.
But if we all can join together and try to help with what we can (not financially but mostly with other work), it CAN be a success. And I think we all can try that for Kalla sir.
Please give your comments, ideas for this. Also please let other friends know about this by sharing this message on Fb.

OLD STORIES 1
I dont know whether this story is true or not, but it was very popular at that time.

Its said that Kalla sir did a class for few students (mainly Devans) at his home after school hours. Sir is said to usually have a nap before the class. Also Sir happened to have a pet Dog.

So the students used to come near the gate and shout " Balla kaida ??? "

But as you might figured they actually wanted to ask the reverse of what they said,
" Kalla Bai Da?? "

So kalla sir comes out shouting " Nae Nae mama Budhi nae, aharala inne Yako! "

Talking of his dog, I remember he had a small Pomeranian dog at his home.
It was bright white in color -some what funny, contrasting Sir's skin color ;)
