The classroom turned into a lively kitchen studio as our Lower Nursery students stepped into the role of Mini Master Chefs, mixing, chopping, and stirring their way through an exciting fruit salad–making activity.

The students eagerly explored a variety of fresh fruits—bananas, apples, papaya, and watermelon. Teachers guided them as they carefully added each ingredient, creating a bowl full of colours and flavours.

Beyond the fun, this activity helped students develop early practical life skills, fine motor coordination, healthy eating habits, and the confidence to be independent.

Our little artists of Upper Nursery and Pre-Grade proudly showcased their creativity at the Art & Craft Exhibition, held on 13th and 14th November 2025 at the school premises. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to express themselves and explore recyclable materials such as tonic lids, paper rolls, and bottles, while learning the importance of reusing and caring for our environment.

Parents enjoyed walking through the classrooms and admiring the beautiful displays created by our young learners.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated teachers for guiding and inspiring them from such an early age. You have opened doors to a future filled with artists, designers, illustrators, and creators the world has yet to discover!

Our curious little explorers had an exciting time during the Senses Scavenger Hunt! Through fun, hands-on experiences, they discovered how we use our five senses — seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, and touching — to learn about the world around us.
The activity encouraged observation, communication, and critical thinking while helping them build new vocabulary and understand each sense in a meaningful way.

𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 – 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀

The celebration began with teachers placing a pottu — a symbol of blessings and good fortune — to mark the auspicious beginning of Deepavali.

Teachers then shared the significance of the festival through engaging songs, stories, and discussions, helping students understand how families celebrate this special day at home.

A highlight of the event was the vibrant Kolam displayed at the school entrance, while a beautifully arranged table with lamps, marigolds, and sweets brought the festive spirit to life.

The celebration concluded with a joyful oil lamp colouring activity, fostering the values of sharing, togetherness, and cultural appreciation among students.

On 3rd October 2025, Lyceum Leaf School Kottawa warmly welcomed parents of Upper Nursery and Pre-Grade students for an informative awareness session on the Pearson iPrimary Reception curriculum. The session began with an overview of the curriculum, teaching-learning approach, and the pivotal role of parents in reinforcing learning, presented by the Sectional Head. This was followed by subject-wise sessions conducted by our dedicated teachers. The event concluded with an engaging story time, giving parents a glimpse of the joy and excitement our students experience in the classroom every day.

Our Lower Nursery students have beautifully settled into their first few weeks at school. These early days are all about discovering, exploring and learning through fun hands on activities. Students have been joyfully engaged in preliminary activities such as spooning grains, threading beads, opening/closing bottles/boxes, pouring water and pe***ng which help them build confidence, independence, develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. These simple, yet meaningful activities nurture patience and concentration.

It is a delight to watch our smallest members of the school, growing more independent each day, enjoying their classroom routine and building new friendships along the way.

Our Pre-Grade students enjoyed a delightful Yoga Session conducted by their dedicated teachers. Through stretching, balancing, and mindful breathing, the children learned the importance of focus, calmness, and body awareness, all while sharing laughter and joy.

A heartfelt thank-you to our teachers for creating a peaceful and positive atmosphere, helping our little ones relax, recharge and embrace mindfulness through movement.

𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱!

Our little stars at 𝙇𝙮𝙘𝙚𝙪𝙢 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙛 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡, 𝙆𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙖𝙬𝙖 had a truly magical Children’s Day celebration! The day was filled with music, laughter, and endless fun as students enjoyed exciting games and vibrant activities.

One of the highlights was the Face Painting Session, where children transformed into butterflies, superheroes, and unicorns — their faces lighting up with joy and imagination. 🦋

Adding even more magic to the day was the Balloon Twisting Show, where a talented entertainer created animals, flowers, and fun figures that the children proudly carried home.

The school echoed with their giggles and wonder — a beautiful reminder that children are the heart of our school.
