As part of the Vesak Festival programme organized by our university institution in celebration of the 2026 Vesak Festival, with the support of the Chinese Buddhist Students’ Association, a grand rice dansala was held under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Ven. Dr. Bodagama Chandima Thero. More than 3,500 people participated in this event.

2026 වෛශාඛ්‍ය මංගල්‍යය සැමරීම වෙනුවෙන් අප විශ්වවිද්‍යාල ආයතනය චීන බෞද්ධ ශිෂ්‍ය එකමුතුවේ සහයෝගය ඇතිව සංවිධානය කරන ලද වෙසක් මංගල්‍යය වැඩසටහනේ එක් අංගයක් වූ මහා බත් දන්සල උපකුලපති ආචාර්ය බෝදාගම චන්දිම නාහිමියන්ගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් පැවැත්විය. මේ සදහා 3500කට අධික ජනතාවක් සහභාගි විය.

සිංහල අලුත් අවුරුදු උදාවෙන් පසු අප ආයතනයේ රාජකාරී කටයුතු ආරම්භ කරමින් ආශිර්වාද පිරිත් දේශනාවන් පවත්වා අධ්‍යයන අනධ්‍යයන හැමට ආශිර්වාද කිරීම උපකුලපති ආචාර්ය බෝදාගම චන්දිම නාහිමියන් වෙනුවෙන් නියොජ්‍ය උපකුලපති ආචාර්ය දම්පේ විජිතරතන හිමියන් හා අධ්‍යක්ෂ පස්ගොඩ සුමිත්ත හිමියන්ගේ මෙන් ම අධ්‍යයන අනධ්‍යයන සියලු දෙනාගේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් විශ්වවිද්‍යාල පරිශ්‍රයේ දී 2026 අප්‍රේල් මස 21 වැනිදා සිදුකෙරිණි.

Following the dawn of the Sinhala New Year, the official duties of our institution were ceremonially commenced with the chanting of the Pirith blessing, invoking blessings upon both academic and non-academic staff. This event was held on April 21, 2026, within the university premises, in the presence of Deputy Vice Chancellor Ven. Dr. Dampe Wijitharathana Thero, Director Ven. Pasgoda Sumiththa Thero, and all members of the academic and non-academic staff, on behalf of Vice Chancellor Ven. Dr. Bodagama Chandima Thero.

Orientation Program of the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree Programme - FHSS.

The Orientation Program for the 2026 intake of students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree Programme, conducted by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Nāgānanda International Institute of Buddhist Studies, was successfully held on 5th April at the C1 Building.

The event was graced by several distinguished members of the academic community, including Prof. P. B. Mandawala (Dean, FHSS), Mr. Senaka Senevirathna (Head of the Department), Ms. Ishari Dilmini (Lecturer in Applied Archaeology), Dr. Ashoka Karunaratne (Academic Consultant), Ms. Ishani Udeshika(Assistant Librarian), along with visiting lecturers in Anthropology, Dr. Kanishka Wijayaratne, Mr. Amila Nuwan and Ms. Chathurangani Amarakoon.

The ceremony was also attended by the academic and administrative staff of FHSS, as well as Senior students from both Sinhala and English medium programmes.
