VANGUARD 2026: A Milestone in Sri Lankan Collegiate E-sports

VANGUARD 2026 Inter-University E-sports Championship was concluded successfully at the Faculty of Computing and Technology of the University of Kelaniya, bringing together some of the country’s top university e-sports talent.

Organized collaboratively by the Legion Society and Mora E-Sports, the tournament featured 78 teams from 11 universities representing both state and private higher education institutes across Sri Lanka.

Following several competitive online rounds, the Grand Finals transformed the venue into an exciting gaming arena featuring VR gaming experiences, arcade competitions, and live e-sports action for participants and spectators alike.

The championship winners were,

COD Mobile – Team Rogue (ECU)
Mobile Legends – Aqua Assassin (University of Moratuwa)
COD4 – 404 (NIBM)
Valorant – 6 KIZUKIS (SLIIT)
PUBG Mobile – SLIIT Legend (SLIIT)

Beyond the competition, VANGUARD 2026 highlighted the growing influence of esports within Sri Lankan universities while showcasing the technical expertise, teamwork, and leadership skills of the organizers.

The success of the event marks another significant step forward for collegiate esports in Sri Lanka, proving that university gaming has evolved into a strong and united competitive community.
