The Rage.lk website is officially live. 🖥️🔗

This has been a long time coming and now, anyone who wants to
understand ragging, report it safely, or simply stand with us, has
a place to go.

But this launch wouldn’t have happened without two people who
stepped up and gave their skills, their time, and their effort -
completely voluntarily.

Hirusha Gunasena ._ and Ravindu Mahakumbura ._ built this website
from the ground up because they believed in what we’re doing.
They saw a cause worth contributing to, and they showed up.

That kind of support means everything to a movement like ours.

To both of you - thank you. You’ve helped give this fight a home.

Rage.lk is proud to stand at the forefront of the fight against ragging, and November 18, 2025 Supreme Court intervention marks a turning point.

Following the tragic death of Sabaragamuwa University student Charith Dilshan, who was driven to su***de after alleged brutal physical and sexual abuse, the Supreme Court delivered a strong and overdue message: ragging is shameful, unacceptable, and must no longer be ignored.

Two petitions were taken up, one filed by Rage (SC/FR/147/2025), supporting Charith’s parents as they sought justice, and another filed by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (SC/FR/101/2025) on the grounds of public interest litigation.

Together, these cases exposed years of inaction by universities and the UGC, including the failure to implement anti-ragging guidelines issued by the Court itself.

The Supreme Court granted leave to proceed in both petitions and issued firm interim orders, signaling that institutions can no longer hide behind committees or outdated awareness programmes.

This is a step forward, not just for Charith’s family, but for every student who has suffered in silence.

Rage.lk will continue to stand with students, fight for accountability, and push for the safe campuses they deserve.
