🔥 ENGLAND DOMINATE DAY 1! 🇬🇧🏏
What a way to begin the England vs Pakistan 1st Test at Headingley! 💥
Pakistan were bowled out for just 171, with England’s pace attack producing a stunning performance. The stars of the day were Ollie Robinson and Josh Tongue, who both claimed five-wicket hauls! 🎯

Robinson made history too — he took a wicket with the very first ball of the Test series, becoming the first England bowler to achieve that feat. He also became the first England bowler to dismiss four of Pakistan’s top five batters in a Test innings without a catch involved.
And the numbers get even better! 🇬🇧🔥 Two England bowlers taking five wickets in the same Test innings is a rare achievement, making this a truly memorable day for the English pace attack.
England finished Day 1 on 112/2, just 59 runs behind Pakistan, with Joe Root unbeaten on 37 and Jordan Cox on 23*.

Niroshan Dickwella had a cheeky request for Yashasvi Jaiswal: “Take me to the IPL, then I’ll hit!” Jaiswal played along, promising to take him to the IPL if he smashed a six. 😂
But cricket had other plans! 🎭 Dickwella couldn’t deliver the six — and soon found himself back in the pavilion! 😆

What a finish to a thrilling Test match! India have defeated Sri Lanka by 165 runs in the 1st Test at Galle, taking a 1–0 lead in the series. 🏏

⭐ Devdutt Padikkal was the star with a magnificent 167 in the first innings and followed it with 44 in the second. He deservedly walked away with the Player of the Match award.
💯 Sonal Dinusha showed tremendous character with 100 & 84, while Dhananjaya de Silva added a fighting 59 in Sri Lanka’s second innings.

🇱🇰🏏 NIROSHAN DICKWELLA IS BACK! — A TEST COMEBACK FOR THE BIG STAGE 🔥
Sri Lanka Cricket has announced a 16-member squad for the first Test against India, and one name immediately grabs the spotlight — Niroshan Dickwella.
After being away from the Test setup since 2023, the experienced wicketkeeper-batter has earned his way back into Sri Lanka’s red-ball plans. His return brings not only wicketkeeping experience, but also the aggressive, fearless approach that has made Dickwella such an entertaining presence in international cricket.

The timing could hardly be more intriguing. Sri Lanka are preparing to face a strong Indian side in a two-Test series, with the first Test scheduled to begin in Galle on August 15.
The squad also brings fresh faces and new possibilities. Keshara Nuwantha has received his maiden international call-up, while Pasindu Sooriyabandara is also in contention for a potential Test debut.
