A time of Prayer and Thanksgiving to remember the 10th Death Anniversary of Late Rev. Somasiri. K. Perera and to Celebrate the 9th Anniversary of the inauguration of Rev. Soma Perera Center for Peace and Reconciliation Studies.
Rev. Somasiri. K. Perera, was a former Principal at the Theological College of Lanka (1968–1978 and 1987–1989) and a former President of the Methodist Church of Sri Lanka (1980 – 1985).
He was a Compassionate & Humble Pastor, a Theologian, a Teacher, a Social Activist, a promoter of Ecumenism. He spoke against all kinds of oppression – gender, ethnic, religious and very specially he stood by the victims in 1983 riots.
His contributions to the Asian Ecumenical Movement, especially through the active participation in various committees of the Christian Conference of Asia and also in the Central Committee of World Council of Churches is widely recognized.
The Centre for Peace and Reconciliation Studies was inaugurated on 1st September 2012 at a service held in Rev Soma’ Perera’s memory and since then it has been an adventure of faith and praxis. Reflecting the ecumenical approach of the school & the Peace Center, the former Anglican Bishop of Colombo, Rt. Rev. Duleep De Chickera, delivered the first Rev. Soma Perera Memorial Lecture in 2012.

Today we remember the 50th memorial day of Rev. Daniel Thambiraja Niles (4th May 1908 - 17th July 1970). He was a great Pastor, Preacher, Teacher, Leader, Writer, Ecumenist & Evangelist.
Let us Thank God for the life and ministry of Rev. D.T. Niles.

After the Mindfulness program which was conducted by Sathi Pasala Foundation, the volunteers of Rev. Soma Perera Center for Peace and Reconciliation Studies discussed on constructing the Mindful Walking Path which will be benefited by the whole TCL community.
This was declared open by the Acting Principal, Rt. Rev. Keerthisiri Fernando on 11th September 2019.
This initiative will help everyone to walk barefoot by only concentrating on the movement of the feet which is a meditative activity that will help a person to feel mentally grounded and centered.
