As I travel from Kandy to the airport in Colombo, I have time for one last post. I know both Ramona and I received so many well-wishes and expressions of gratitude from those we taught, trained, and worked with. Truly, we are the ones who are grateful for this opportunity. These photos are a sampling of the wonderful cards that my students at Mahaweli National College of Education made, as well as some poetry from some Kandy Access Microscholarship students. Thank you for giving us these ten months, Sri Lanka. ❤️🙏🏻

Goodbyes are the hardest. Thank you DipTESL 2018 for the wonderful farewell party. You made me feel so appreciated and loved. I will miss you all, but look forward to hearing about the great things you are doing in your classrooms and for the students of Sri Lanka.

Fellow Ramona Stowe conducted a teacher training for the Hambantota RESC this week called Language Games, Warmers, and Energizers for Secondary Students. Hopefully, the teacher took some fun engaging activities back to their classroom. We had fun doing them!

My last visit to the Access Microscholarship students in the American Corner Kandy. 😔 We’ve had such fun together, and today didn’t disappoint. We all learned how to do a traditional American dance (originated from England) called the Virginia Reel. Thank you for all your enthusiasm and hospitality, Kandy Access! One of my favorite things about the English Language Fellow Program and the has been the various awards ceremonies hosted at the . The finished today with song, dance, skits and presentations. A perfect culmination of all their hard work! I’m always honored to be a part of the celebrations which reflect the motivation, determination, and grit of young men and women who take part in these courses.
