It is with great pleasure and pride we announce that Ms. Shamilka Karunanayake has been appointed as one of the Sri Lanka's Official Youth Delegates to the United Nations for 2018/19. Ms. Karunanayake is a past Head Prefect of Kandy Girls' High School (2012) and currently done with her final year exams at the Sri Lanka Law College. It is with honour and gratefulness that we inform you the appointment of your next Youth Delegates to represent Sri Lanka at the United Nations for 2018/19 - Shamilka Karunanayake and Insaf Bakeer Markar
They received their appointment letters by the Chairman/Director-General of National Youth Services Council (NYSC) Attorney-At-Law Eranda Weliange.
NYSC is a state apparatus which falls under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Project Management and Southern Development.
We congratulate the two appointees and wish them a successful year as the official youth representatives of the nation to the UN. We are certain that they would continue the legacy set by their predeceasing Youth Delegates.
We would like to dedicate the appointment of Shamilka and Insaf to every young person in our nation who works tirelessly to make the future of this country a prosperous one!
