The inauguration of the 14-day English language training and Dhamma preaching training program was held with the participation of the Most Venerable Anunayaka Thero of the Malwathu Maha Viharaya, the Chief Incumbent of Sri Vimaladhamma Abhidhana of Dimbulkumbura; the Venerable Dumbara Sōratha Nayaka Thero, Venerable Pannāloka Thero of Kanumuldeniya, Ayurvedic Physician. Deputy Chief Sanghanayaka of Denuwara; the Principal of Nadugala Maha Vidyalaya, Matara, and the Chief Incumbent of Sankhapāla Rajamaha Viharaya, Venerable Attudāwe Dhammārāma Nayaka Thero; the Chief Sanghanayaka of the Eastern Tammankaduwa Two Divisions, the Head of Trincomalee Agrabodhi Maha Pirivena, and the Chief Incumbent of Sri Bodhirajārāma, Venerable Aluthoya Saddhātissa Thero; the Deputy Provincial Director of Education (Southern Province), Venerable Māpakada Pēmaratana Thero; the Assistant Director of Education, Dr. Venerable Pussellāwe Sīlavisuddhi Thero; the Pirivena Chief Incumbent and Darśanapati of Polonnaruwa, Venerable Sumanasāra Thero;

With the noble aspiration of nurturing and introducing to society a generation of monks adept in eloquent expression, articulate communication, and linguistic proficiency suited to the modern world, a Residential English Dhamma Preaching Training Programme will be conducted at the Pirivena Institute from 14th February 2026 to 27th February 2026.

This programme is held under the direct supervision of the Pirivena Division of the Ministry of Education, with the generous patronage of the Pirivena Viharadhipathi and Darśanapathi, Venerable Polonnaruwa Sumanasāra Thero; under the guidance of the Pirivenadhipathi, Venerable Koratiye Pemaratana Thero (B.A.); and under the leadership of the Head of the English Medium Section, Venerable Māgalpotha Sīvali Thero (M.A.).

කීමෙහි බිනීමෙහි දක්ෂ, භාෂා නිපුනත්වයෙන් යුතු නව්‍ය ලෝකයට ඔබින යති පරපුරක් සමාජගත කරවීමෙහි උදාර චේතනා පෙරදැරිව, අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍යාංශයේ පිරිවෙන් ඒකකයෙහි සෘජු අධීක්ෂණය ඇතිව,

පිරිවෙන් විහාරාධිපති දර්ශනපති පොළොන්නරුවේ සුමනසාර හිමිපාණන් වහන්සේගේ සම්පත් දායකත්වයෙන්, පරිවේනාධිපති ගෞරව ශාස්ත්‍රවේදී, කොරටියේ පේමරතන හිමියන්ගේ මග පෙන්වීමෙන්, ඉංග්‍රීසි මාධ්‍යය අංශාධිපති ශාස්ත්‍රපති මාගල්පොත සීවලි හිමියන්ගේ මූලිකත්වයෙන් සිදුකරනු ලබන නේවාසික ඉංග්‍රීසි ධර්මදේශනා පුහුණු වැඩසටහන 2026.02.14 දින සිට 2026.02.27 දින දක්වා පිරිවෙන් ආයතනයේ දී පැවැත්වේ.

In parallel with the annual History Day commemorative program of Sirisumana Bilingual Pirivena, a special lecture will be delivered by Senior Professor of Archaeology at the University of Kelaniya, Raj Somadeva, at the historic Kurukude Viharasthana Sambuddhathva Jayanti Dhamma Mandiraya, Godagandeniya, Eriyagama, on 10th October 2025 at 2.00 p.m.
