🖼️✨ Notre-Dame VR Experience – Celebrating Francophonie 2026

On March 22nd, 2026, alongside our Eco Monument Competition and Exhibition, students had a unique opportunity to explore the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral through virtual reality! ⛪🌍

This immersive experience allowed them to walk inside the cathedral, discover its stunning architecture, and learn about the restoration after the fire, all from the Alliance Française de Kandy. 🎥🕶️

A wonderful way to combine history, culture, and technology, giving our students a truly memorable Francophonie celebration. 🌿💫

We are proud to celebrate the amazing creativity of our Alliance Française de Kandy students in this year’s Eco Monument Competition! 🌱🎨

🥇 1st Place – La Nouvelle-Calédonie
An impressive creation using natural materials, showcasing imagination, detail, and eco-friendly design, capturing the essence of this beautiful region. ♻️🏛️

🥈 2nd Place – La Carte de la France
A wonderful creation of molded miniatures of France’s major regions, made with clay and other creative media, blending artistry and innovation. ♻️🎨

🥉 3rd Place – Hassan II Mosque
A realistic portrayal of the Hassan II Mosque, crafted using recycled materials, remarkable for its attention to detail and artistic vision. ♻️🏛️

🌿✨ Eco Monument Competition & Exhibition 2026 at Alliance Française de Kandy!

On March 22nd, 2026, we invited 9 schools in Kandy along with our Alliance students to take part in an exceptional day focused on creativity and sustainability. 🏫♻️

Participants created eco-friendly monuments using recycled materials, showing imagination, precision, and care. 🌱🎨 The day also included a short film screening to celebrate Francophonie. 🎬🌍

🌿✨ 2026 Eco Monument Competition – School Winners 🏆

🥇 Swarnamali Girls’ College Kandy – 1st Place
A life-size Arc de Triomphe, impressive for its scale, precision, and eco-friendly design. Every detail showcased amazing creativity and dedication! ♻️🏛️

🥈 Stamford College Kandy – 2nd Place
A stunning Louvre Museum, entirely made from recycled materials, combining elegance and imagination. A truly inspiring creation! ♻️🎨

🥉 Good Shepherd Convent – 3rd Place
A life-size Eiffel Tower, captivating with attention to detail and artistic vision, all crafted from recycled materials. ♻️🏛️

💫 Long live Francophonie! 🇫🇷

On 20th March 2026, in celebration of International Francophonie Day 2026, we had the pleasure of hosting a unique cultural experience centered around the iconic Notre-Dame de Paris.

The event featured an exhibition, offering visitors a closer look at the history, architecture, and the restoration of Notre-Dame. Through visuals, informative displays, and engaging content, the exhibition guided the public through the monument’s rich past and the challenges faced in bringing it back to life after the fire.

This was complemented by a captivating documentary that highlighted the dedication, craftsmanship, and global effort behind its reconstruction.

To make the experience even more immersive, visitors were invited to step inside Notre-Dame through a stunning VR experience, discovering its beauty and grandeur.

The event brought together a community united by culture, heritage, and innovation.
