Yaqeen Schools -

Yaqeen Schools

From Generation Gap to Generation Bridge: Yaqeen Schools Celebrate the Wisdom of Our Elders

Education is not only about teaching children how to read, write, calculate or pass examinations. True education also prepares children to understand life, people and the society in which they live.

Every society is made up of different generations, and each generation has an important place in that society. Among them, senior citizens hold a very special position. They are the people who have lived through different times, experienced changes, faced difficulties, built families and contributed to the development of society.

Yet, in today's rapidly changing world, the connection between younger people and elders is becoming weaker.

The Growing Generation Gap

Children of Generation Alpha and the younger members of Generation Z are growing up in a world of smartphones, social media, artificial intelligence, instant communication and unlimited access to information.

Their grandparents grew up in a very different world.

Many of them lived without the internet, smartphones, social media and many of the conveniences that young people take for granted today. They learned through observation, experience, conversation, patience and real-life challenges.

This difference in lifestyle, communication and thinking can create what we call a generation gap.

But a generation gap should not become a separation.
It should become an opportunity to connect two worlds.
Why Do Children Need Their Elders?

Today's children have tremendous access to information. With a few clicks, they can find answers to almost any question.
But information is not the same as experience.

A child may learn about hardship from a book, but an elderly person may have actually lived through it.

A child may read about saving money, patience, responsibility or family life, but an elder can share lessons learned through decades of experience.

Our elders are, in many ways, living libraries of human experience.
Their stories, memories, mistakes, achievements and struggles contain valuable lessons for the next generation.

When children sit with their grandparents and listen to them, they are not simply hearing stories.

They are receiving a part of their society's memory, wisdom and values.

What Happens When Wisdom Is Not Passed On?

Every generation inherits knowledge from the generation before it.
If that knowledge is not shared, something important can slowly disappear.

Stories disappear.

Traditional knowledge disappears.

Family experiences disappear.

Lessons learned through hardship disappear.

And future generations may have to learn the same lessons all over again.

Technology can preserve information, but human beings preserve wisdom by sharing it with one another.

That is why there must be a bridge between generations.

Building the Bridge

The relationship between children and elders should not be one-sided.

Young people can learn from senior citizens, while senior citizens can also enjoy learning about the new world from young people.
The young bring energy, creativity and new ideas.

The elders bring experience, wisdom and perspective.

When these qualities come together, both generations benefit.
Most importantly, children learn something that no examination can measure: respect for people and appreciation for the journey of life.

Yaqeen Schools: Education Beyond the Classroom
At Yaqeen Schools, we believe that education must go beyond conventional classroom teaching.

Yaqeen Schools has always encouraged innovation and the introduction of meaningful educational experiences that help children develop not only academically, but also socially, emotionally and morally.

As part of this vision, Yaqeen Schools has introduced a unique Senior Citizens Day.

Senior Citizens Day will be held on Wednesday, 30th September 2026, creating a special opportunity for senior citizens and students to come together, share experiences, enjoy meaningful conversations and celebrate the value of our elders.

The programme is not simply about entertaining senior citizens.
It is about giving children an opportunity to listen, understand, appreciate and learn.

It is about reminding our children that the elderly are not a forgotten generation. They are an important part of the society we have inherited and the wisdom we need to carry forward.

A Bridge Towards Tomorrow

A society becomes stronger when its generations remain connected.

Children need the curiosity of youth, but they also need the wisdom of experience.

Our elders need to know that their contribution is valued, their stories are remembered and their presence still matters.

Perhaps the greatest lesson we can give our children is this:
Respect the people who came before you.

Listen to their stories.

Learn from their experiences.

Carry their wisdom into the future.

Senior Citizens Day at Yaqeen Schools is therefore more than a programme.

It is an educational experience.

It is a celebration of our elders.

And most importantly, it is an attempt to build a bridge between generations — from the wisdom of yesterday to the promise of tomorrow.

Education doesn't end when the school day ends. At Yaqeen Schools, we teach children that good habits should follow them home—like putting their school bag in its proper place instead of throwing it anywhere. Because we don't just teach children how to learn; we teach them how to live.

17/09/2026

Good manners begin with small habits. When we remove our shoes or slippers, we should keep them neatly to the side—not right in front of the door. At Yaqeen Schools, we teach children to keep things orderly and think about the convenience of others. Because small habits build strong character.

“A simple ‘Excuse me’ can show a lot of respect. At Yaqeen Schools, we teach children to use polite words when joining a conversation or passing between others. Because good manners are small habits that build strong character.”

Education is not only about books and examinations. At Yaqeen Schools, we teach children the small habits that shape a responsible future—such as respecting useful stickers, notices and posters placed in public places. Small lessons today. Better citizens tomorrow.

Good manners begin with small habits. At Yaqeen Schools, our students learn to raise their hands and wait patiently before asking a question or answering in class. This simple habit teaches respect, patience, self-discipline, and the importance of listening to others.
