Cinema is a matter of what's in the frame and what's out - Martin Scorsese

Martin Scorsese is an American director, producer and screenwriter. He is one of the most prominent figures during the New Hollywood era as his films draw inspiration from Italian-American background and explores a variety of themes including crime, nihilism and machismo. Initially wanting to become a priest but soon changed after he failed during first year at a seminary school. His first feature length film "Who's that knocking at my door" garnered critical praise and was accepted into the Chicago Film Festival. His career is a long one consisting of many movies such Taxi Driver, King of Comedy, Wolf of Wall Street, Casino and the critically acclaimed Goodfellas with many accolades such as an academy award, a Grammy award, three Emmy awards, as well an AFI Life Achievement Award. Five of his films have been inducted into the National Film Registry.

Oscar Wilde was an Irish poet and playwright born in October 16th, 1854. His career spanned for twenty years. He is best known for his novel "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and short stories like "The Happy Prince" and "The Nightingale and the Rose". Perhaps more famous than his works is his life story itself. He is well known to be witty and flamboyantly dressed and was prosecuted for indecency for homosexual acts in what is widely known as one of the first celebrity trials during the peak of his career. His imprisonment and subsequent exile led to a decline in his health which eventually led to his death but even amidst all obstacles he fought for his love to be accepted. His treatment was trulyΒ aΒ tragedy.
