Mantis shrimp are stomatopods which are closely related to shrimps. They are older than dinosaurs ( scientists believe that they evolved 400 million years ago).

Mantis shrimps have the most complex eyes in the animal kingdom, their eyes have 12 photoreceptors compared to the three photoreceptors in human eyes. They also have trinocular vision .Mantis shrimp also have their own secret language to communicate among themselves. No other animal including humans have been able to decipher this language.

There are two types of Mantis shrimps,
Spear mantis shrimp
Peacock mantis shrimp.
The most bizarre feature of peacock Mantis shrimp is that they can deliver a punch of 50 mph acceleration. Which is faster than a 22 calibre bullet. Because of the energy spent during the punch , The water around the punch heats up to the sun's surface temperature.
